I was just looking throught the GT4 NA Car list and noticed this....

FORD (Germany)
Escort Rally Car ('98)
Focus Rally Car ('99)
Focus ST170 ('03)
Focus RS ('02)
Ka ('01)
RS200 ('84)
RS200 Rally Car ('85)

Shouldn't this be Ford - UK?

They might be Fords manufactured in Germany, seeing as there is a Ford - US list too.

Its most likely come from the fact that Ford European HQ is based in Germany.

If anything, it should be 'Ford Europe' Ford has a presence in plenty of european countries - Germany, the UK, Spain and Belgium to name but a handfull. But i suppose it's Germany these days where the power lies, with their HQ in Cologne(?)

The head quarters are there, but thoes cars are all British. It's like saying Vauxhall are German or SEAT are German.

I might be wrong, but don't theyprepare Ford Rallye cars in Germany ? Remember that in GT Ford rallye cars had a german licence plate ?

The WRC cars all carry UK plates (the plate below is however technically illegal in the UK - far to small for DVLA requirements) ...

...and the team is based in the UK.

Ford
BP-Ford World Rally Team is based at M-Sport's Dovenby Hall premises in north-west England. It is here that the all-new 2006 specification Focus RS WRC, based on the highly successful Focus ST road car, was developed.

This season is the first of a three-year commitment in the WRC for Ford with the new-shape Focus. For 2006 Ford has a driving team of experience and youth. The experience comes with double world champions Marcus Grönholm and Timo Rautiainen while the youth is provided by fellow Finns Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen.

The team's major partner in the WRC is BP, via its BP Ultimate and Castrol brands.

You might be thinking of Mitsubishi who were based in Germany. Ford's rally cars are built by M-Sport in Cumbria (northern england) - Malcolm Wilson's company.

55 Plates aren't out yet are they?

55 plates were issued from 1st September 2005 to 28th Feb 2006.

UK plates can be broken down as follows, the 3rd character (always a digit) indicates the registration period, 0 is from 1st March, 5 is from 1st September. The forth character (again always a digit) is the year indicator.

So the current one is 56, the 5 from after Sept and the 6 from 2006.

BTW the 0 and 5 will change to 1 and 6 after 2010, then 2 and 7 after 2020, etc.

Info here - http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/inf104.pdf

Before Sept 2001 (start of the current system) its was either a prefix or suffix, details of which can be found here http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/list_of_suffxi_and_prefix_marks.pdf.
