eastley
Could someone with a brain please tune the Ford GT to do the Ford GT one make Race? I have tried everything and can not get it to handle what so ever.

If someone could tune it, it might make it easier for me to complete.

Thanks in advance.

try lowering the ride height at the rear and leave the front, thus making the weight distrubtion rear ward, i did that and found that the car is alot easier to control and alot more forgiving when the rear-end steps out

i dont think it's good to lower the rear cause the problem with the gt is light front due to rwd and power which causes understeer ,

So eastley, did you manage to get this right?
What set-up did you use?

Edit -
I did it.. Turns out you just have to spend some time tuning and it's fairly easy! (well, almost).. I figured out the reason why the FGT was so twitchy was due to the constant weight transfer which made it lose the rear traction completely, and with traction control set to 10 also, it didnt help, as it just slowed the car up completely.. So I Tuned it accordingly..

Max Power
Min Weight
-20 to -20 RideHeight
7 - 7 Dampers
7 - 7 Springs

Gearing Ration towards Acceleration (dont remember how much though, about 3.9 Final gear, or something)
Managed to overtake the first car, just after the final left hander, by slipstreaming .. .. Intense..

Using a G25
Physics set to - Pro
ASM - on
TCS - 3
ABS - 3

(BTW, how do you tune the car on the fly with a G25?, do i have to map the buttons? or u can do this with default layout?)

Sorry for the long delay in reply.

After 3-4 minutes of tuning I turned the Ford GT in to a beast that I actually got drifting quite nicely at times. Set lap times of 1'07.xxx around the high speed ring to come first by miles.

GT5:Prologue, is now 100% complete for me.

Thanks guys, in particular sheruken who set me upon the right track with tuning.

Care to share the settings?

Settings pretty much as above..

BHP: Maximum
Weight: Min
Ride height: Fr -20 Rr -20
All spring rates and dampers 7.
Toe: all 0
Camber: All 0
Brake Balance: Fr - 5 Rr - 10
Max Turning Angle: 40
TC: 1
ABS: 2
Gears: All the same except for final on 3.000.

Would love for some drivers to try these tuning settings out, it never made the Ford GT easy to handle, just tamed it a bit.

Also just to note, when I was going around a corner and the back end stepped out, i never touch the brake, you spin. I had to take the throttle completely off, and the split second it seemed NEARLY in control hit the gas at about 75% for a second the floor it completely. I made the word nearly in capitals because if you wait to long you lose to much time etc, need to keep revs and speed as high as possible.

Changed some settings, got first after one lap on the makers race,

BHP: Maximum
Weight: Min
Ride height: Fr -20 Rr -20 -13 -13
All spring rates and dampers 7. all 5
Toe: all 0 -10 -15
Camber: All 0 2.1 2.3
Brake Balance: Fr - 5 Rr - 10 2 5
Max Turning Angle: 40
TC: 1
ABS: 2
Gears: All the same except for final on 3.000. 4417

In the GT manual it is said, that Ford GT handles most reallisticaly on N3 or S1 tyres...soo if a car has extreme oversteer - put the most grippiest tyres on the rear wheels. With N3 on the front and S1 on the rear it is very stable even on professional, then again, the cornering ability is reduse, but with a little suspension tweaking .... well you know xD
It handles quite well with S3 or R1 tyres on the front, and R3 on the rear.
A little experiment with these manipulations and you will have a greatly improoved sports car!

I cant seem to find any info on how to change tires in quick tune on the S class events......... I can change them in arcade mode but have not been able to change them on the S class. What am I missing? or is it even possible?

Linknl's tuning tips seemed to have worked with me as well. I managed 4th on the HSR, and have found that by being a bit more gentle on the throttle the car is working very nicely. I'm using the Logitec wheel that came out with gt4. The cars are so different this time around which makes for a great challenge. Can't wait till the full version comes out.

if it is any help.. i got a setting that works pretty good.. i don't us tractioncontrol and have no wheelspin at all. (sorry for my bad english i'm belgian)

height fr -25 r-20
spring fr 8 r 10 (weight is in the back)
damp fr 7 r 6
toe fr -0.24 r -0.12
brake fr 0.8 r 0.7 (depends on how much overstaer you want if you need less lower the rear)
stearing angle 30-35 (not more, makes it harder to stear)
abs 10
gearing (i set it like this so all traction is on the road from the first gear. ps: gear 6 is overdrive you don't need it)

gear1 2.250
2 1.518
3 1.114
4 0.942
5 0.838
final 3.485

i hope this can be of any help to anyone :sly:

here... for race s-2 i got third on this setup

power: maxed out
weight: increased until you hit 680 pp
ride height: -8/-6
Brake: 7/5
Traction: 7
ABS: 2

try it out... it might not work on other races...

The GT is fastest using TCS=off. It's not the easiest to drive that way but this car needs full throttle control to really shine.

When you brake a bit early and pick up some throttle just as you turn in you can really hustle this car. The TCS in the game chops the throttle and unloads the rear right when you need MORE throttle to keep the rear in line.

Using standard physics this car is far more likely to spin because of too little throttle than due to too much throttle. In pro it will spin in a heartbeat with either too little or too much throttle.

If the TCS in the game was more linear (instead of an on-off switch) then it would make the cars too easy to drive so my theory is that the game designers intentionally made the "assist" features flawed so that the fastest way would always be to turn them off.

ok, maybe not 7, try like 3...

i agree. seven gives you some serious understeer, 3 is very moderate... i always use standard physics for that reason... post your tune for the gt... mine worked...

I have used the Ford GT to get gold in S1, S2, S4, S5, S7, S8, S9, and S10, as well as many of the lower events. It is my favorite car in the game. I posted my GT tune in my S-class tunes thread. I simply adjusted the power to use it in the various events.
