The Shelby GT500 is a high performance muscle car built by Ford SVT & Shelby based off the Ford Mustang. It is powered by a 5.4 Ford V8 engine that is supercharged to produce 500HP. It was a collaboration between Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and Carroll Shelby and was produced in limited numbers for 3 years (2007-2009) in limited numbers (10,000 units per year) and was assembled at Ford's Flat Rock assembly facility in Michigan. It was available as a 2 door coupe and convertible.
