Hey, whats wrong with a regular Miata?

I've always fancied one in BR green with the tan interior and top. As long as you drive it right, it is by no means a "chick" car.

Its a bit more complicated than that. The basic design overall was shared with the LT1 (slightly different bore and stroke, still 5.7L), had heads designed by Lotus Engineering, and final assembly was done by Mercury Marine.
'Twas a joke.
YSSMAN
Lotus Elise is actually powered by a Toyota (developed by Yamaha) 1.8 out of the Celica now. Much better than the old Rover K series engine.
You, sir, are crazy.

Ah, by better you mean "more reliable." I thought you meant "better engine power." In that case, then yes. But anyways, its a Lotus. The word reliable is not supposed to be said in the same phrase.

I personally think that the more rev happy nature of the Toyota engine suits the frantic experience that makes the Elise so much fun.

But then I have only done a few trackday laps in a friends car so can't really comment on the day-day driveability. But then who really buys an Elise for day-day commuting?
