At the German CART race Alex Zanardi was leading in the closing stages of the race and when he came out of the pits his car skidded across the grass and into traffic. Alex Taglini, going 200+ mph t-boned Zanardi's car instintly scrattering both cars. Tag would be fine but Zanardi has lost both of his legs in the accident, he is still in surgery in a Berlin hospital.
