Hello, I've recently developed an interest in Formula 1 Racing, now that I've gotten into GT5P and have a G25 wheel.

I was simply wondering as to what channel Formula 1 can be viewed on. I live in Canada, and my provider is Rogers. I realize that similar to other sports, Formula 1 can only be viewed during certain times.

Also, I was wondering if there are any sites in that go in-depth with the sport, featuring rules, history, terms used in the sport, and which also tells of the times races are being held at, so I can view them on television.

Thanks in advance.

TSN, and sometimes the Speed Channel. The Toronto Star has listings; on cable, TSN is channel 830. (for viewing) The airing time is often 7:30-8 a.m. Eastern time when the races are on, and qualifying is also aired at those times.

Zheng1337, which city do you live in?

TSN shows it live. I dont really like TSN commentary and i dont like to wake up at 7am to catch it. Only advantage for me is i have TSNHD and not Speed HD on my rogers digital box

Speed shows it live and they also have a replay later in the afternoon. (Around 12.30 here in toronto) For the few races now that are not on speed, Fox shows it around 1pm here.

And if you miss any race, Speed will always have a reply on the following wednesday afternoon.

Is scarborough a province of changchun? :D
Heh no. That's actually the thing about it though, when customizing my profile, it asked for my current place I reside in. However, after inputted, it says that I am "From" this place.

Technically, I was born in Changchun, and so therefore, I am from there, although I currently reside in Scarborough. Well a place near Scarborough, but it's basically the same thing, as it gets the same programs, and is in the same time zone.

But no, Scarborough is a city located in Ontario, which is a province of Canada. :)

You're funny, Alex.

Anyways, I believe the Speed channel also has to be ordered; so, if you can spend the extra money, Speed has better coverage at later times, though TSN does come with the cable, I think.

Scarborough is in North Yorkshire. Not Canada. Not China.

43 46 19.45" N 79 15 04.15" W. These co-ordinates appear to point considerably closer to Toronto than they do to North Yorkshire! :dunce:

The best site for me, by far, is F1live. You can sit and watch live laptimes from qualifying, races, and live commentary. I've watched live qualifying on it a number of times, instead of waking up at 2:00am to watch it on the telly... great site.

These are good places to start for the history of the sport:

Wikipedia has stats on every driver that's ever sat in a F1 car, even if only for a practice lap. But it's kind of dry, and without opinion, of course. It's good for getting the basic stats of a driver or simple race information.

YouTube has some old videos, if you try different search terms.

Libraries have lots of books too, that's how I became interested in its past (before 256-color monitors). Biographies and annuals are good places to start.

Well, if you live in Canada, there is a good chance you speak French, however I am only guessing, so correct if I am wrong. However, if I am right, check out this website...
