So I just got into the S section of races and I was a bit unhappy when I realized that there still are not any unrestricted events... Other than practice, what is the point of having cars like the Formula Gran Turismo and the Red Bull cars if they are WAY over the PP limit? Even if I drop the Formula GT's power down to 50% I still have to add about 100 lbs just to get it to 750 PP or so and enter into some of the S and IA events. I like the PP restrictions for most of these events, but I want to be able to use the Formula GT in a real race without completely ruining it. I am also wondering why all of the events allow nothing better than hard racing tires to be entered.... again if there are not going to be any events allowing soft racing tires then why have them in the game? Perhaps they could have put in a Formula GT championship like they did in GT5...

I must say, while the fantastic and huge selection of race circuits available in GT6 is by far the best track collection of the GT games, that is pretty much the only thing in this game that isn't below average for a GT game... I suppose the coffee break sections were quite enjoyable as well... especially the cone and economy challenges (there should be about 3 times more economy challenges I think.)

I think it would be nice if you were able to create your own race by choosing the track and then choosing all of the cars that you would be racing against (maybe even being able to choose exactly how each of the cars would be set up in terms of upgraded parts.) That way I could just set up my own Formula GT championship...

Am I missing something or is 750 PP and hard racing the maximum allowed for races in GT6?

I'm not the only person disappointed about this then, really annoyed me how i spent 6,000,000 on a Red bull car just to find out i couldnt use it in any of the events, just arcade and practice, i don't race online either so its pretty pointless me having it :(

I like the PP limit on some events but it's annoying after a while. I completely agree. I don't race online so buying these high end cars is pretty useless. I hope they patch in more single player races without any pp limits.

Gran Turismo is a game where you have to create alot of the fun yourself. The career mode is for me nothing more than an annoying grind I need to do for money and price cars.

I think the real fun of GT is in endlessly lapping the same track, seeing what cars are faster and what you need to do to make them faster still. This is where the über high pp cars come in, so you can compare how much faster a real racing car is than a stock roadcar.

I agree that there are still ways that you can enjoyably drive these vehicles but when I have been running time trials for an extended period of time I can find myself thinking that a different challenge (trying to maximize lap times while also having to deal with overtaking) would be a nice way to switch things up for the sake of variety.

I also agree that the career mode can become a bit tedious at times when the "themes" of the individual series are either too broad or too narrow, as well as simply boring. However, I think that the reason that particularly this current (GT6) career mode has seemed so uninspiring is because there are simply not enough championships that allow only one model and require each one to have the exact same parts and power/weight measurements. While there are the set of various Kart championships as well as the NASCAR championships available, championships for the Formula Gran Turismo as well as other more interesting models like the DeltaWing, LCC's Rocket and the LFA would be much better choices than many of the actual examples GT6 actually offers. Not only that but when it comes to racing series that are going to involve a "themed" choice of the vehicle you can use, the criteria for eligibility of the cars could be a bit more interesting. Instead of allowing literally any American made car, perhaps something restricted to either Mustangs or Camaros from any year. Or instead of any European made car they could restrict it to nothing but 4-door cars from Audi, BMW or Mercedes-Benz, then have another one for onlys Ferrari and Lamborghinis from the past decade. One final example would be a series for only LeMans prototype cars (within a range of 10-50 PP and/or 5-10 years) as opposed to a series that claims to be a LeMans "theme" yet will allow anything as long as it doesn't exceed the maximum PP limit.

It is no fun when a championship involves you winning with huge leads by using a car that is superior in essentially every way to your "competition" cars. Still, I don't see why including 2-3 of these series would do anything but improve the career mode gameplay. I must say that I was pretty glad when the Vettel section was released, which would be a good first step towards bolstering this particular career mode... which would be very much good news for me because collecting cars is another of the things I like to do in the game and given the fact that the career mode is the most effective way to endlessly grind out enough prize money to eventually own each and every individual car, I tend to use it quite a bit.
