Guilt is running through my veins. I've used gtplanet extensively for tuning help and tips; it has gotten me very far in this game. Suzuka was my last non-Vettel obstacle to overcome. I finally beat Côte d'azur in the Formula GT Championship, and so I decided to get after Suzuka.

The course is very challenging in the FGT, even with the perfect setup. It is very easy to just nick the grass with a tire, and BOOM...game over. After grinding laps in 12th place, I finally got into a semblance of a groove, consistently running between 1'33 and 1'38. Not great, but an improvement definitely. I was making up ground on the other cars and only got 12th by a few seconds. I almost quit on lap 19, thinking a 12th place finish and 65,000 Cr were not that important....But, I decided to limp home to the finish.

As I finished I noticed that the precipitation went from 0% to 100% - I slipped on some rain intermediates and figured I'd do even worse in the rain. Wrong - despite 2 spinouts on the first lap, I was in 4th place. By the 3rd lap I had a lead of 14 seconds and growing. Cakewalk...

I figure I would have eventually pulled a victory in the sunshine, so I'm not recommending this to anyone, BUT...if you are frustrated to no end, this is a way to close out that trophy.

I'm sure there are others out there who resorted to a rain dance victory to check this one off their list. If you did it straight up, more power to you :)

Could I make it rain in the Vettel challenge?!?

Nope. Vettel challenge is always dry.

I know :). Was a rhetorical joke/question.

Every single race was dry for me in the formula GT...I won every race by maybe 30sec no problem

Yea, my mistake was winning the championship 6 weeks ago and then not driving the FGT until today. Had I raced it the same day, it would have gone better I think. I just abandoned the Suzuka because I had an insurmountable lead and was tired after 2.5 hours of racing.
