a simple question...is it possible to win this race in a non F1 car? if so, what car do you reccomend coz i have tried almost everything from the escudo to the 787, the zonda race car you name it...i have the speed but not the control, braking or cornering...

i have the F094-2 from the PD cup, but i want to use a non F1 car.

It's been documented on numerous occasions that the R390 has the best chance at winning the series.

Proper braking control, tire wear management and Cornering are the keys to winning this in a Non-F1 car.

The other route you can take, if you feel the F094 reeks of overkill, is run this series in an F090. It is surely the underdog in speed, and you need consistent lap times and minimal pitting to win.

Take a look here to see what times you'd have to run to win the races. Keep in mind, that particular thread is nearly a year old.

There are a few other in the write-ups forum that have noted their times.

I commend you for attempting this in a car other than an F1.

Good luck,

AO

yeah well, perhaps i missed the NUMEROUS OCCASIONS that this topic was discussed....

thanks for the advice, but i am not sure i have the patience to win it in an non F1 car

My apologies, I didn't mean that in a derogative way. More along the lines of we've talked about it a number of times and the consensus that we've reached is that it can be done in the R390 Race car, the Toyota Gt-one and the 787B. With the R390 running the best chance as it is more stable and controllable than the GT-one. The 787B doesn't have the gearing manipulation that the other two have to take full advantage of it's power.

Take some time, do some testing and give it a shot. Remember you only have to win 7 races, and qualify on the pole in 1 race. You can skip two races and still win with a margin of points.

Keep a set of T6s to run for on the track you qualify at. Then run T2's at all the other tracks.

Pit stops and top speed are where you'll win.

On further review of my notes, Test Course and Super Speedway are sure wins in the R390, as you've got loads more top end than the F1's.

So in reality, you really need to worry about 5 races. I'd skip Laguna and Cote. Laguna the F1's seem unrealistically hooked up. Cote is really long and your oil won't be fresh. I'd qualify at Seattle (but that's only me and I hate that track).

Tokyo R246 is a track where you can take advantage of your Speed. Along with Midfield. So the places to worry are at Rome, Grand Valley, and Apricot Hill.

Good Luck,

AO

...is there anything that Fiat cant do? :D

Ving, you need to get a sharkport, so that you can modify that Fiat to run in races that it can't now.

I'm serious. Pick one up, download MK's utilites and modify it to where you can run other races. I'd be interested to see how it does.

Sure there is, Clint, otherwise ving would have ditched his old lady in favor of more GT3 time!
;)

No, I'm sure he didn't win the F1 Championship in a Fiat - he can't even win races where the Fiat is the fastest car!

It's been said before that the Toyota GT-One, Nissan R390 GT1 can win the Formula GT Championship, though I don't recall anyone having won it in any other car than an F1 before.

But keep in mind that it is possible.
