Here is a review of the rules

A. Basic Rules to follow in qualifying and race sessions

A1. No wall riding, course cutting or cheating of any kind.

A2. Keep 2 tires on the racing surface at all times. The rumble strip is NOT part of the racing surface.

A3. ASM is dissallowed in all sessions. TCS is optional for all sessions

A4. Gearing is free for all sessions

A5. B-Spec is NOT ALLOWED

B. Qualifying Rules

B1. Qualifying will be done in Arace Mode > Time Trial

B2. Any breach of basic rules in a qualifying lap must make that lap obsolete

B3. Use default HP. Use given weight in qualifying thread.

B4. Qualifying is very important in Formula GT. You must send in a qualifying time to take the grid for the race. You must aslo be within 105% of the pole winning time in order to take the grid for the race. Drivers will be given one 'provisional' at the start of the season. This provisional can be used to start a race randomly at the back of the field if you did not turn in a qualifying time. It can also be used to start a race if you qualified outside the 105% range.

Example: If the pole winning time is 1'20.000, you must qualify within 5% of that time, which is 1'24.000, or 4 seconds, in order to make the field.

B5. You must send in your split times

B6. .2 of a second will be added to the total time of every positon behind pole. .2 to 2nd, .4 to 3rd, .6 to 4th and so on.

C.
Race Rules

C1. The race will be done in Aracde mode > Single Race

C2. The number of laps, AI difficulty, penalty for contact, tire compound (mild or strong tire wear) and other information will be given in the race thread. This is done to prevent drivers from racing the next round before it is time to gain an advantage.

The Offical Test Track is Fuji 90s

USE DEFAULT HP AND WEIGHT FOR QUALIFYNG AND THE RACE

Arcade Mode
10 laps
AI difficulty is up to you
Tire wear is mild for the race (coin flip)

You need only to take split times for your qualifying time which is 1 flying lap in time trial mode.

Time submission should loook like this:

Name + Team:
Qualifying total time and splits:
Race total Time:

And we have two weeks to submit our times, or do we have to submit quali after 1 week and race after another week?

Oh I forgot to give the most important information, due dates.

Due to me going on vacation from June 27 - July 3, 1 week will be given for qualifying and 2 weeks for the race.

June 24th is the deadline for qualifying, and July 8th (Sunday) is the due date for the test race.

This will be the only 3 week event.

And one more thing Penalty for contact is set to NONE, just dont use the AI for brakes guys 👍

The HP and weight is default, 892 HP and 550kg weight

but due to confusion etc i decided to allow 3 weeks for both qualifying and the race, so you will get the results of both at the end of the 3 weeks

FGT cars can only have medium compound tyres, and when you select a different one in the Arcade menu it doesn’t have any effect on lap times (heck, even in the replays it says R3). The tyre wear being set at mild is the limiting factor on wear for this race. :)

So do we have to send in our qualifying lap time today? Or do we send in both the qualifying lap and the race time in another 2 weeks?

I sent my times in a few days ago.

I had a hard time coming anywhere near my qualifying pace in the race - my fastest lap was just about two seconds slower than my quali lap. I managed to make the tyres last the whole thing and without too much time problems, though, so I'm optimistic.

Yeah, my fastest lap was 1.4s off my qualifying time. The tyres were pretty marginal, though. On the time I’m sending in I was really in a good groove and I forgot that my tyres were going to be in bad shape at the first turn of the last lap, and I had a big slide which cost me a bit of time. I was 3s off my lap record on the last lap. :indiff:

EDIT: I just submitted my times. I haven’t attempted that race in almost two weeks, so I hope they’re not too late.

Results are posted in the first thread

Congratulations The Internent and good job Blake, right on his bumper 👍

woo, that was really close between internet and Blake, and if we count off the .200 margin time for 2nd place in qualifying

is there still time to register? i might be interested in joining :)

Wow, that was insanely close. Great job The Internet, especially in qualifying. I don’t think I could have got much more out of that.

EDIT: Earth, what happened? You were so close in quali but you dropped the ball in the race…

I spun out about 3-4 times on the last lap with worn tires...I didn't bother trying again since it was a test race and I have been very busy with vacation etc
