I use Firefox and have a common problem of having the second and later pages of threads not being marked as new.

The first page is fine showing which threads have been updated, but, if I stay on that page and read messages, to catch up, the updated threads on page 2 or higher are not marked as new, when I eventually get to them.

The only way I get to see all updated threads is to go to the oldest one first, then work backwards.

Can you fix this, please?

Try logging out and then logging back in (which will clear your GTP cookies), then use the forum as you normally would for a couple days and see if it's still a problem.

Did this and signed in today. I just let Firefox sit (for about one hour) at the top page of a forum that I knew (from another browser) that it had more than one page with updated messages.

The second page was marked as all read, so nothing has changed because of deleting this site's cookie.

Any other ideas?

Cheers,

Well, that makes sense because our cookies expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. Therefore, after an hour, your session will have long been over, and any thread that had not been updated since your last visit (all those on the second page) will be marked as read (because they have not changed since your last visit to the site).

Ok, now that I know how it works, I can do things properly. 💡

Thanks!
