Well guys I've got at least ideas for the next three weeks in the works now so we should not have too many more WRS outages as long as participation keeps up.

However, I need some input on how to run this thing, this is the first time I have done something like this and I'm not sure I agree with everything MildAshers put in place. With this being just the second week of competition I think this is a good time to iron everything out.

1. Points. Why do we have them? GT WRS does not use them I think we should drop them, if there is nothing tangible to race for it should keep the cheating down.

2. Time verification. I am still working on this one, should we keep up an honor system? I have saved and uploaded a replay from some laps earlier and am going to see what info and stuff it holds, but I'm not holding my breath for it having anything useful. Should we require a picture of the screen with the submission? I for one am not partial to this idea but if it is the only way to do it I will have no choice.

3. Car selection. With the Hot Holidays Car Pack out now is it fair to use DLC and/or VIP cars? My thought is if I can use a VIP/DLC car plus another "stock" car, how do you guys feel this would work?

There we go, leave some comments, suggest some car/track combos, and help me improve this! 👍 :)

Results:
Round One(911+S4/Circuit de Catalunya National Circuit)
Round Two(370Z/Road Atlanta Club)
Round Three('07 MX5/Laguna Seca)
Round Four(A600/Sunset Peninsula)
Round Five(DTM/Road America)

Points: I agree that they should be dropped - for me knowing how I've done would be good enough.

Time verification: I think the Forza system itself is pretty good. It makes sure people stay on track for legit times and largely stops any one getting any unfair advantage.

You can check if the car is stock by expanding the stats on the forzamotorsport.net leaderboards - assuming the lap time submitted for WRS is the one it shows. You can see the exact power, torque and weight.. Only thing is you'd have to add us all to find our times :ouch: [do you need to be a gold member to appear on the leaderboards?]. Pictures and replays might be the best idea if you don't trust the leaderboards.

Car selection: It would be good to be able to use those cars but I guess for those that don't have them they end up with less choice.

As few people as we have participating in this I don't see cheating being a big concern. If I just want to run hotlaps I can do that on my own without comparing the time to 10-20 people. I think points need to stay. Gives you more incentive to keep trying and catch up with that one guy who you've been trying to top.

I say maybe wait a full month after a DLC release to use any cars. On one hand its not fair to those who haven't bought it, but by that time they probably won't be buying it anyway. Its also not fair that the people are are more into Forza (buying all the content) are getting restricted by what cars they get to compete with.

However I do really like the idea of getting to choose any car (or any car that fits x requirements, say 1990s Japanese cars) and tuning it to a certain PI. And with that we can sort of make a "street class" where race slicks and perhaps DOT-R slicks are outlawed. And in something like that the users with DLC would have the opportunity to use them while the others had to choose an original car.

I have to agree with Eric, while the idea of racing completely stock class cars is fun, I would prefer to build and tune my car within specific guidelines. Although knowing I am not the best tuner/driver to compete here I think it would be just as, if not more satisfying to know I built a car that could at least compete with the others here

One thing you'll find in tuning is that a fast car is not necessarily a consistent car. Theoretically, if a car doesn't understeer but will oversteer through a turn, it can be driven perfectly and be faster than the car that may run wide through that turn. But online in pack racing, people are should be more cautious, and thus slower. Where a more stable car has the chance of passing the guys who have to win the race in turn one.

Keeping this one up there.

I've added the results from previous rounds to start an archive.

It might be good to toss in the current leaderboard in the first post too.

So everyone in the land can bask in your glory-ness?

This WRS thing is more work than I thought, ef it I'll finish the banners and maps in the morning its 3 am here.

Alright guys, I just picked up my third Xbox 360, and Forza 3, Im a part of GTWRS, Just wondering what I have to do to start this one. I dont see a qualifier for this, or maybe Im blind. If not I will jump right in this weeks event!

Thanks.

Thanks for joining us.

I had to go buy my FIFTH X360 for this game. The three in between had been replaced by warranty, but this last time Xbox Tech Support just wanted to screw me out of $120. At four dead systems I kind of expect to just call in and get a replacement without much question. And having had three refurbs break, I had a good idea what would happen with this one. So I drove over to Gamespot and grudgingly dropped $200 for an arcade model. With their $20 one year in-store-replacement service.

Surprisingly I never had an xbox go on me, I just keep reselling them because I am either moving or never have time to play. I just got a refurb with HDMI port 360 for 130 and 20gb hard drive. I dont think it was a bad deal. I still like the PS3 more though now that I have them literally side by side.

I agree about the PS3. My launch console failed eventually but it did have a hard life with lots of Folding@home hours. Replaced within warranty, then the replacement stopped working but I traced it down to a bad hard drive. Replaced that and it's been good since. The new X360 runs so much better than the others also.

Anyway, good luck this week.

I know the coment comes late here :) But Keep the points.

It makes it more interesting.

When it comes to the tuning and stock racing I am for both kind.
A good variation of this is good. Some weeks stock and some weeks tuning.

I am not the best tuner out there, far from it. But it will learn me some new stuff for sure.

Keep up the good work and I will continue Racing.
