Forza 4 and Horizon DLC questions

So yesterday on a whim I dug my (brother's) old 360 out of retirement to play Forza 3. Aside from the fact I can't use my G27 with it I had quite a lot of fun with it, so I decided to buy Forza 4 and Horizon.

I've just been looking on the store at the DLC for both and it's raised a few questions:

- How much, approximately, would it cost to buy all of the DLC for Forza 4? It seems rather expensive...

- Are they still releasing DLC for Horizon? If so, how long has it got left before they stop?

- How much DLC have you personally bought? Do you tend to buy entire packs or just pick and choose a few cars you want? I thought about doing that but as most packs seem to be 400MS, single cars are 240MS (I might be getting mixed up here, they might've been 160... My memory is terrible) and there aren't any packs where I only want one car it seems pointless just buying single cars.

- What exactly is included in the VIP and Season Pass DLC? How much do I save, if anything, if I buy both? I am going to have to sit down with a pen and paper to work it all out (as I said, my memory is terrible) but if anyone has a link or knows off the top of their head...?

- Approximately how much hard drive space would you need for Forza 3, 4 and Horizon's game data plus a fair bit of DLC? I think my hard drive is only 20GB or so and it has less than 4GB left on it! Maybe it's time to get a new 360? My one is a launch Core model, after all.

Thanks guys, I'm not hoping for all these questions to be answered but some info would be very much appreciated.

Hey neema_t!

This may get a little long winded so bear with me. I have all the DLC for Forza 4, with the exception of the BMW Design Challenge Cars that come with the Collector's Edition, and the Dodge Challenger 392 that you got when you pre ordered Horizon. I'll break down the cheapest way to get all the DLC and the price (not including random sales that happen):

FM4 Season Pass (2400 MS Points = $30): includes the Muscle Car Pack, and the car packs from November - April.

BMW M5 fan pack: FREE!

Bonus Track Pack: FREE!

Hyundai Veloster bonus pack: FREE!

May Pack: 560 MS = about $7

Porsche Pack = 1600 MS = $20 OR 1200 MS = $15 w/ season pass or VIP

Meguiar's Car Pack: 560 MS = about $7

SRT Viper GTS bonus pack: FREE!

August Pack: 560 MS = about $7

September Pack = about $7

Pre-order/ Launch day car pack: 560 MS = about $7

VIP Pass: 1,200 MS = $15

So altogether to get all possible DLC for F4 will cost about $95.

Question 2: Yes there is still DLC for Horizon. There are still at least 2 more car packs coming to complete the Season Pass deal. After that I don't know.

Question 3: I have bought all DLC so far for both games.

Question 4: Here is a link to all FM4 DLC: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Forza-4/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d530910?nosplash=1

I don't know the answer to your last question. I have a 250 gig, so I don't worry about space.

Wow, thanks a lot! Yeah, I only have 20GB, I'm pretty sure that'll need upgrading for me to even install all the free Forza 3 DLC... Only thing there is the 120GB clip-on hard drive is £75, and a brand new 250GB 360 is £175! I think I know which path I'll be taking.

So it's reasonable to expect the DLC for Horizon might reach $95 too, I guess, that's about £60. That's quite expensive in one sitting (I'm normally a PC gamer, where games can be had for however little you want to pay, it's just a question of how long you want to wait) but buying them one or two at a time over a few months would be fine.

I guess I'll make do with the vanilla games for a while, I'm supposed to be saving £3,000 for college next year after all! A DLC every now and then won't break the bank though. A new 360 might, however.

I had a launch 360 for several years and the 20 gigs did me just fine, but I didn't install games and had little DLC. I eventually bough a new 360, honestly mainly just for a 250 gig drive and new controller. Otherwise my launch unit still works fine. Now that I have 250 gigs I install most games.

Personally, I'd skip the Horizon DLC and, instead, invest into FM4.

As for the HDD, though, you con't need a new Xbox for that. The xbox supports up to 16gb of external memory (say, a USB thunb drive), if I'm not mistaken. Getting one of those for ten bucks would definitely be cheaper than a new xbox, double your disc space and allow you get more DLC.
