Forza and GT5

Alright, so I love GT5 and it is my favorite video games, but I have unfortunately been stuck playing Forza lately. My friends I play with tell me how much better it is than GT5, but I disagree with them. I couldn't really express to them why GT5 is better, so I've come to you guys for help and suggestions why GT5 is a better game. I'm not saying Forza is bad though, just GT5 is really good.

Forza has like 600 less cars, which is obviously very important in a racing game. Forza's AI have mind diseases. When you stop in the middle of the road on FM3, the cars run into you like you arent even there. In GT5, they all have different ways to avoid crashing into you. GT has better driving physics. Gt5 premium cars destroy Forza's cars. And since Forza is on 360, the graphics are worse.
 
The only people who say forza are better, have 360's. And since more people have 360 than Ps3, you will hear more fanboys. BTW I have played both, but I sold my 360 a year ago.

Well most games that are on both XBOX 360 and PS3 look better on XBOX 360, but the developers can be blamed for that. Nevertheless the XBOX 360 has a slightly more powerful video card (can provide better textures, light rendering, shadows and shaders) while the PS3 has a more powerful processor which helps mainly for large, open areas and physics.

As for Forza and GT5? We have tons of threads comparing the two game series.
 
My step brother said his comparison on GT5 and Forza. He said in cockpit mode in Forza the driver doesn't move his hand down to shift. I'm not sure if this is true. And other things that he just simply hated about the game. He said once he played it for awhile he got off it and sold the game becuase he was just simply sick of it. Eventually he sold his Xbox and got back to GT5. End of story. :)

I am talking about exclusives. Killzone 3 looks 100x better than any XBOX game, as does Uncharted, Resistance, etc.

*edit* I will add GT5 to that list too lol

Yeah that's very true. I'd sell my 360 if it was valuable.
 
Let's hope this thread stays sensible!

From my own point of view I've always been a big fan of Forza... if I wasn't then World League Racing would never have happened. It's no coinicidence that about 1500 of our 2000 races have run on Forza 2 or 3.

But... I prefer GT5. I know it's got fewer 'premium' models, no viable auction system, no livery editor, no vinyl storefronts etc. etc. but when I'm out on track it 'feels' right.

I'm a pad user and I feel connected to the car in ways that I never do in Forza. I raced with a few other WLR admins in a silly lobby last night - I could still do decent laps but I missed the feeling of weight in the car.

Darn... I'm no nearer to describing the difference am I? :D
 
To me, Forza's car class system is horrible. Tires should never move a car out of class. Go take a look at the GT Cup in Europe!

GT5 has better physics & graphics, that as primarily and huge differences.

I like them both, but my heart will always be with the GT series. That being said, there a re a few things I like better in forza. I like how you can pick a car and advance with it. In GT5 I felt like I'm always forced to change cars and never really get to know one car really well. I like how you can pick brand names for upgrades. I like how you can make auto-upgrade your car to match the level of competition. In GT5 I was always blowing the AI away and ending up racing by myself. In Forza you could turn up the difficulty and I always felt challenged.

Now I state all that stuff, those are things I like better in Forza3. Overall though I like GT5 much better. Playing Forza3 for me was just to hold me over till GT5 came out and once it did, I haven't touched Forza since.
 
As I always say, Forza Motorsport is the only racing simulator in history that can't simulate anything. GT5 is way better in everything.

Why GT5 is better than Forza 3:

- Because it has a great selection of racing wheels. the average forza player by a long mile uses a pad. Cause they can only choose between Fanatec and Mad Catz. Most dont want to pay for a Fanatec so that leaves them with Mad Catz MC2 (no FFB) or a pad. GT5, due to being on PS3, has Logitech, T500rs, and so forth. On xbox360, you stuck with Fanatec GT2 (good product I'm sure but its not as available as products for PS3)

- Premiums look better in GT5 (but there's only 200 though)

- GT5 is a technical marvel, 1080p (looks great), 3D tech (ok I'm not buying a 3dtv right now but still that's kinda cool), remote B-spec (I find it tedious but its a cool feature)

- GT5 has 16 players online, Forza only has 8 max players
- GT5 has GTPlanet which trumps Forza,s home forum which has been pretty broken (user name tags not appearing lol)

Why GT5 is not better than forza 3:

- Has 1000+ cars but wait- only 200 are premium and out of the remaining 800 cars, maybe only 200 or so is worth spending money on. Forza only has like 500 cars but all are premium and it has a much better selection of cars.
Granted some cockpits look better than others (some race cars in forza look unfinished)

- Forza 3 is more fun to play is the general consensus amongst reviewers while GT5 is considered more real.
- forza has the rewind. Makes the game much easier and more casual. If an AI bumps you off the road (which I cant recall ever happening). but if it did, just hit rewind. In GT5 you just screwed and have to start all over.
- Forza has many, many events. Much more content in this regard.
- Forza has online auctions
- In forza 3 you can paint any car; in GT5 you cant paint over the race cars.
- In Forza 3 you can customize a car with real parts.
- In forza 3 you can test out any car
- In Forza 3, no Used Car Dealership. Say what?! No UCD!
- In Forza 3 there is no crappy credit limit that is the price of the most expensive car. so you can buy a car there and still have money left over. GT5 has 20 mil credit limit


I still choose GT5 for most of my playtime due to the racing wheel situation and nice 16 player online. never even tried Forza 3 online.... I think Forza 3 is the better game but GT5 is the better sim due to physics and racing wheel availability. so that's all you need to say...
 
WOW please forget your 360 buddies.Let them try GT5 with a real wheel and enough said.

Gt5 with a wheel in 3D is amazing and in Forza you can't do that..... 'nuff said.
