Forza compared to GT...Am I the only one struggling?

Hey guys. Have always been a GT guy. Played since the fist one. A friend of mine has Xbox and he's constantly telling me about Forza.

Anyway been playing (using that term very loosely) Forza and just can not get it down. I'm constantly spinning out, struggling with corner speed and hitting what I call the sticky wall (going through a left hander too fast, bump the wall and end up facing the wall).

I think the game has some great options, tracks, and game play features that do not exist in GT. However, I just can not get the game down so that I can even be remotely competitive.

Anyone else run into this?

I had the same problem going from Forza to GT5p. Each game has their own controls, physics and nuance.

Use the auto-brake until you get used to it then start taking stuff off.

Turn the racing line on if you haven't already. Just take a decent car out in hot lap mode and practice following that line.

Use the braking only line, hats really all you need. Also wat cars are yo driving since everything I've used was pretty easy to drive, even to the grip limits. I've enver spun out with all the tires on the track.

It's hard going from one game to another. If I play NFS:shift for a few days, then switch to Dirt2 or GT5:P, I have to get used to them all over again.

This. I couldn't get the higher end cars to grip for the life of me in this game. However, I went and did some testing with the racing line in Free Play to see what I was doing wrong in the corners. The racing line showed me exactly what I was doing wrong. I went back into the races, and that solved my problem. I was braking at he wrong times (to to mention over powering), car was sliding through corners never gripping.

if you are accustomed to racing games, you should be able to destroy the AI with just the braking line. I play with the gamepad although i wish the G25 worked, but with the braking line, all aids off, no abs and manual shifting i am breezing through the game (medium difficulty). Even the races that tell me to upgrade my car to be competitive, i DONT and still am able to easily take out the AI ( i will admit i bully them sometimes). A lot of the cars have way too much grip if you ask me. I bought the porsche Gt2 MR/RWD version and was expecting lift-off oversteer but i get NONE of that (car is bone stock). It's still fun to drive the cars/courses but i'm mainly racing to get them out of the way and make money. Drifting is my main reason for the FM3 purchase and it's the only fun i have while using a controller. I wish i could pony up for the FANATEC wheel to see what this game really has to offer. If you are having trouble i would suggest using the Braking line and ABS, should make getting around the track a bit less difficult. But practice makes better, if you are having fun you will get good at it!! :)👍

It's weird, I'm a GT guy at heart and had absolutely no problem switching over to Forza (coming from a wheel to a controller is weird though) but I can drive pretty effeciently with all assists off. It just took me a few races to get it right :P

I can't say I'm having big probs either, playing with everything turned off and ai on hard, haven't lost a race so far (except for the first few, got the wrong car and it simply wasn't competitive at all). but practice makes perfect so I would suggest keep trying;).

Its strange... its the opposite for me. After playing FM3 and going back to GT5p I had a lot of trouble. GT5p really punishes you for small mistakes. I find FM3 to be almost too easy until you get into the very high speed cars (Bently Speed 8 on that crazy mountain track with no aids is SOOOOOOO F-ING hard).
