Hello GT Planet! This a thread to put your expansion & update ideas for Horizon 6!

Rather than put all these ideas in the general thread, I thought it would make sense to create a separate thread for these. I'll go first;

Horizon Apex All-Stars Expansion (using the FH5 Apex All-Stars image since I have no photo shop skills :( )

Series_33_Apex_Allstars_series_branding_8d76e84192.png

  • New Expansion based around Competitive Circuit Racing.
  • New Map contains multiple race tracks - including Hakone from FM2023.
  • 1 large one, Hakone.
  • 1 medium sized one, similar to Hokubu
  • 1 small sized one, similar to Shimanoyama Drift Circuit
  • All new tracks have pit lanes and the existing tracks on the base map have pit lanes now working - and are used in the career.
  • Tire Wear, Fuel, Mandatory Pit Stops and Selecting Tire Compound are part of this expansion. These options can be used in the base game too. Systems pulled from FM2023.
  • All cars fuel tanks and fuel consumptions have been implemented.
  • Tire Compounds are only selected in races. (Not in free-roam)
  • The career of this expansion takes you through racing a bunch of different racing cars & types. Progressing from slower cars to faster cars. 12 different car types and racing series to complete.
  • Each Career race has a Practice and Qualifying Option.
  • Track Limits/Penalties introduced on each of the race tracks including Legend Island and existing time attack circuits.
  • Endurance Challenges and Time Trials are mixed in between the championships to keep things fresh.
  • New Motorsport Racing hopper added to the base game - with all the bells & whistles of the expansion enabled. Including Qualifying.
  • Ballast upgrade added to most cars (from FM2023)
  • New GT style aero kits added to a number of cars (much like the Rally Expansion in FH5 added rally parts to a bunch of existing cars)
  • Only 2 New-to-Forza cars - but a lot of New to Horizon cars and 25 cars in an expansion vs the usual 10 would make up for the shortfall of new metal IMO.

Career Championships - In order of completion

If an expansion included the Magarigawa club: https://www.magarigawa.com/en/ and surrounding areas it would be quite a coup.
I know Legend Island was a nod to it, but they did their usual half-cooked attempt with the scenery. The track itself is alright, but it's the setting that makes the Magarigawa Resort look so incredible. The player house should have been in the trackside apartments and not simply a festival outpost, for instance.

I'm not sure what this thread is for. I would assume that the details of the two DLCs for FH6 have already been decided and finalized. Usually, these things happen well in advance.

I'm just gonna copy-paste my thoughts from the general discussion thread.

Expansion 1
If I had to guess? Call it Fast and Furious Stunt Park. Make it, essentially, a Horizon Rush-based campaign, with similar progression to Hot Wheels Park in FH5. You barrel through ranks, with Showcases (of sorts) and Horizon Rush events themed around and inspired by various famous stunts and sequences from throughout Fast and Furious's storied legacy to capstone each chapter of the expansion's story. The actual aesthetic of the island would be, essentially, one giant movie studio set in an Okinawa/Bonin Islands-inspired locale, seemingly tailor-made for Fast and Furious filming, with other references to F&F scattered about for the eagle-eyed fan. You'd get more Drag Meets and Drift Attack circuits--Jordan wouldn't have implied there was more than one Drift Attack circuit outside of Shimanoyama if PG wasn't thinking about more permanent additions, while the routes would perhaps start feeling more cinematic than 'realistic', with more opportunities for Skills in the races themselves. Basically taking what worked from Horizon Rush and translating it into actual races.

The Horizon Story would, like Hot Wheels, essentially be a guided tour of the franchise's filming history, while the story justification would perhaps be Horizon getting contacted to help put together a documentary on the franchise in a way only Horizon can--by giving its Legends free license to tear it up the way Dom and family do. Iconic F&F cars (that aren't the Tokyo Drift Mustang we already have) will be rewards for progressing through the DLC campaign, while the Horizon Story perhaps gives out a bunch of up-and-coming speed demons and/or future stunt cars, like the C8 ZR1. Heck, maybe you could even end it with revealing the 'hero car' for Fast Forever and giving it to everyone who owns the expansion for free, just to drive up hype for that movie.

Alternatively, maybe crib from Rally Adventure and divide Mei, Kyoko and Jordan into three separate mini-campaigns just like that expansion did, each one focusing on a specific aspect of Fast's movies--one focusing on the initial street racing movies, one focusing on the skill-based driving in the middle of the series, and one focusing on the stunt-driven supercar-glazing modern day Fast and Furious heist movies with their more ridiculous premises and stunts. Essentially you'd end up bringing all three together as the 'Horizon Family', as corny as that sounds, to symbolize how Fast isn't just one thing or one genre of movies.

Expansion 2

I would expect something set in Hokkaido, or perhaps near Nagoya, where the WRC Rally Japan route is set. Traditionally, the 'serious expansion' of any Horizon game is set in a semi-untamed part of the host country, to encourage off-road adventures. Hokkaido has been that for Japan for a while. I know folks here want Hakone so they can have Fujimi Kaido, but Fujimi Kaido's mostly in a well-trodden part of Japan, and that's not really what Storm Island, Fortune Island, Blizzard Mountain, and Sierra Nueva set out to do.

Oh they are definitely already decided upon. This thread is just for ideas & speculating on what they might be until they're announced.

Is it a waste of time? Absolutely, but I have fun making up expansion ideas, car lists, feature lists. And I didn't want to clutter the main thread with a bunch of those.

Also this thread isn't limited to expansions ideas, can be update ideas too, which could go for many years if FH5 is anything to go by.

Nagoya would be a great shout for a Rally/Off-Road themed expansion.

If that's what we do get, I'd love to see PG finally add some of the crazy large Dakar trucks that were found in the files many eons ago like the DAF Twin Turbo
