I hope we see an expanded Liberty Walk range of kits at some point in FH6. We definitely aren't getting any at launch but it would be cool to see PG do something like a bodykit pack down the line for FH6.

They could even do a "Liberty Walk" Playlist with
  • new LW bodykits being added to existing cars
  • all the races in that playlist being restricted to cars with LW kits only
  • LW photo challenges, trial, spec racing champ etc.
  • and the cars being added in the playlist having a LW kit with them (like the Infiniti G37, Daihatsu Copen for example)

LW has the Super Silhouette range which would be perfect to add as a body kit pack (and I've posted about them before) but they have a massive range now, and heaps of kits to make a little pack for existing cars in the game.

This just looks like a MiniGT product portfolio haha

I'm just personally so burned out of the LW stuff and it's a bummer that their kits are literally the only licensed option for a lot of cars in the game. Japan's aftermarket is so incredibly rich and there's a good 30 years of history of companies building parts for some of these cars, e.g., RX-7, S13, R32-34 Skyline, etc. that to just focus on body kits from this one company is doing a disservice to a game that's supposedly all about championing Japanese car culture.

The devs have a chance to really help educate people on this history but they're just leaning in to whatever does numbers on social media. I get it's a business and the game is fluid and things could come in future updates, but at this point I highly doubt it.

I think we will see more Rocket Bunny and Rauh Welt Begriff kits too.

Again, the Japanese aftermarket is so, so, so much more varied than just Liberty Walk, Rocket Bunny, and RWB. Those are the big 3 companies that everyone knows. RWB and Rocket Bunny (formerly TRA Kyoto) have been doing things for a while, with Nakai active since at least the early 90's, but their current stuff is, like Liberty Walk, extremely derivative.

I'm talking about companies like AB Flug, Veilside, Re Amemiya, URAS, Top Secret, Backyard Special, FEEL's, Esprit, TBO, vintage Mugen, etc. Companies that were (and in some cases still are) extremely active in the golden era of Japanese tuning and helped to make legends out of a lot of these cars.

I have no problem with including new companies, but more variety is desperately needed for a game that is supposed to be all about celebrating Japanese car culture.

Its not just Japanese car culture though its much more than that but I agree we need more than just those 3 brands. I have hopes we will see fundementally changing updates that improve the game a lot very soon. They put so much effort into the base game already and I think this is going to continue regarding the live service aspect of the game.

The game is taking place in Japan, and per the devs, is supposed to be a celebration of Japanese car culture, so I would hope for, and expect, that to kind of be at the center of the experience.

My ultimate hope is that we have some thoughtful future updates that are well-researched and do actual justice to the variety of tuning styles in Japan. A Kaido Racer update and car pack, for example, if done well, could be incredible.

It was obvious that this was never going to be exclusively about Japanese car culture just a bigger focus on it than before.

With all the effort they have done with the base game I am sure it will be the same for updates as well.

Totally agree. I am so bored of Liberty Walk and the likes. Thought the first one was cool when I was in high school, bored and over done now.

Forza actually had some amazing tuner cars back in the day, Motorsport 1 and 2 especially. A lot disappeared when they all had to have interiors, which is understandable I suppose - so I'd have thought giving us the kits would've been a good work around.

Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as wanting to educate people on history or championing a certain cultures celebration of all things automotive.

Licensing is such a bitch that it seemingly flies in under the radar. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Playground had a list of third-party vendors they were or are still actively pursuing, but haven't been included because the licensing fee is too high, talks fell through for the most obtuse reasons (i.e. our kits can't be involved in off-road racing), or there was an agreement that was rescinded at the last moment for whatever reason, etc, etc.

All in all, you have a point and there should be more than just Liberty Walk for the majority of the cars in-game and I'm sure PG would agree as well, but it's never as black and white as that. Perhaps LW is so far the only vendor that's played ball in a way that suits what the game is about.

There's hundreds of Japanese tuning companies and body kits suppliers unfortunately we are never gonna get a game where we get most of them.

I'd absolutely love to see VARIS get more widebodies and RE-amemiya and HKS and a heap more but I've come to the realisation that it's not going to happen.

So for now I'm happy that we are getting at least some new customization even if it is just Liberty walk.

I do hope they add more down the line and I'm hopeful we will especially since the game is in Japan you'd think they will do a few customization updates.

While this subject has been done to death; I can't help but agree with this. What's ironic is that most of these brands are NOT new to the Forza Franchise at all. Brands like ABFlug, TOM'S Inc., Mugen, Top Secret, VIS Racing, Veilside had already made an appearance as far back as Forza Motorsport 2 when I played it during its run.

Again, while I'm not too familiar with logistics behind licensing acquirements, you would think these brands would want more exposure now than ever before alongside a title like Forza.

Hopefully on the next Q&A someone could mention why returning brands such as these have not made a return to the franchise.

I know you're right, and it's just a bit of shame that the current aftermarket equipment is apparently so limited. You'd think that some of the smaller companies would love the exposure their products would get in a major title like Horizon, but I guess it does always come down to the lawyers.
