Credit to @nukleabomb for finding the original post on the BMM website trailing the new "experience " at the museum and the ticket launch on 21st April.

You can find more details and order tickets at the link below...:

For those who don't where the BMM is, it is just off the M40 at junction 12 (Gaydon), close to the Jaguar and Aston Martin factories.

I will be attending and will add comments and photos here after the event.

As with the GT7 London event last year and (way back) the Orange Box preview of GT Sport in 2016 (as @Roo @FT-1 and others will remember), I also hope we can arrange an informal :gtplanet: meet on the day.

It will very busy at the event though (the guy on the BMM desk during my Easter visit indicated they are expecting this to be the biggest individual exhibit they have had there when it opens).

If you are planning to attend the launch event, please drop a message below. And flag if you are interested in meeting up as a group (if so, I will send pms nearer the time).

If you have not been to the BMM before, it is worth a visit in itself as it contains many unique British cars/concepts from recent Lotuses and McLarens, and cars going back all the way to 1905. It includes the first Luton Vauxhall from 1912!, the last Austin/Rover/Morris/Triumph/Wolseley cars ever made :( , the last Civic Type R built in Swindon :( and also hosts the Jaguar Daimler Historic Trust's collection in a separate building.

I have included a few photos below from my Easter visit...

Apologies for the self bump, however it's now only 2 weeks until the launch event and I didn't want people to miss out.

I am not involved with the museum at all, just a fan attending.

Details are all as per the first post.
The first 2,500 people get a limited edition wristband!
They have some drifting planned, and expect lots of JDM parked in front of the museum (I believe you'll also find some FH4/FH5 British vehicles inside the museum that were scanned for the game as part of the new FH6 exhibition)

Tickets can be bought via the link below:

I hope we can arrange a get together of
:gtpflag: members going to the event, as I can't be the only one surely?

If you are attending, even if you don't want to meet up, drop a message in this thread please.

If anyone is interested in meeting up, send me a dm here at GTP. The museum isn't a large venue, so meeting up shouldn't be difficult.

It should be a great day - can't wait!

I have my car on show there 😎 me and the wife will be there all day

Plus there is also a car there that I designed the graphics for and got printed onto the real life car 😉 I have been sent the pictures of it but that will be the day I finally physically get to see it 😁

Brilliant! What car do you have (make and colour) so we can look out for it?

Update:
Sung Kang will be at the British Motor Museum event on Saturday! His new movie Drifter is being promoted at the event.
Exhibitor tickets are now sold out.

I was going to see if my mate wanted his IS250 there at the end of last week and noticed they sold out 😔 would have been great to have the 2 together

At this moment in time I have 2 tires being swapped as I seem to have picked up a puncture at Oulton Park 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Gave me chance to give the wheels a proper clean though

This post helped me track you down :)

Was nice to say hello.
Thanks for finding me. And for the tip about this week's Touge location!

It was great meeting you and @P-Courty today. It's always good seeing fellow
:gtpflag: peops at events.

Hope you both had a fantastic day and survived the heat 🥵

I thought the day was really well organised. The ridiculous long queue to meet Sung Kang was inevitable, and out of their control - I skipped that.

The drifting shows were great. Credit to @P-Courty who put together the 370Z liveries for today.

Will be uploading some highlights to this thread in due course.

Phenomenal event that was. Captured the Horizon Festival feeling really well.
The two Kei trucks near the entrance were awesome. Some incredible stuff on display (excluding the museum itself which is a phenomenal experience in its own right!)

I have about 135 more where they came from! Need to edit them all at some point..

Was hoping to see the GR GT, I think they mentioned it early on but I guess they cut back on that? Which is fair enough considering the nature of the car.

I would have been there, but having asked the BMM PR people if there were media opportunities for it I didn't even get a response so couldn't be arsed making the 7hr trip.

They did say it was upstairs in the event area, but I didn't go up there.

Was nice to see @sirjim73, think that's my first GTP member meet 😂

As he mentioned, my graphics went from screen to reality on the RDX drift cars doing the show (secretly using GT7 to see it in 3d first), I made the svgs and sent them into the game to see how it looked before sending it for approval.

Also managed to sneak in for a picture before the day started.

A pity we didn't get to meet up there.
Looks like you had a great time 👍

The one thing missing today was an official
:gtplanet: presence. I was hoping to spend the day staring at the back of your head again, like at the World Series in London last year ;)
There was no official media there, as far as I could see, other than that which was organised by PG themselves.
I don't think BMM even understand the concept tbh. It's no excuse, but many of the people working there are volunteers or ex-car manufacturer employees, none of whom have any marketing experience.
The staff there were all friendly and helpful but they've NEVER had a major event like this before at BMM and seemed a bit overwhelmed at times.

I've also got lots of video from the afternoon show, which i'll need to upload on YouTube.

Was the giant robot there?
No, but there was a guy in a giant hat!

Did you see the one with the Yamaha engine as soon as you come in on the left?

I was up there but it wasn't! The Peel was, which was cool. Few other cars from the game but no GT (just a GT-R).
That's a shame because they said "the cover car GR-GT" was upstairs 😔

Also loved these 😂

Completely forgot about the robot, that would have been cool

I did! Mad little thing. The whole display around SaitoWorks was awesome, some really cool builds. The R31 nearby was stunning!

Think my favourite was the random Juke parked up. i really hope someone bought an exhibition ticket thinking it was for access to an exhibition then turned up just to get their car shepherded to the display places.

I didn't even see that, I saw the completely standard Swift that had a bunch of Pokemon teddys in the front window, it must have only been a few spots down from this

I need to resize the real svgs used to make the full replica in GT7, but here is the version I originally made

Here's my merchandise flag, completed Stamp Card and Tank Card. Some of those tanks are tricky to find. They are all either inside vehicles or tied up tightly, as they are the only 10 tanks in the UK and could get stolen otherwise!
