The GT series sports a big amount of race series (organised right here on gtplanet.net) but it seems that Forza2 is not so lucky...

Is there a reason for this?

Do players (especially from gtplanet.net) favor time attacks instead of actual multiplayer racing?

I don't know but the number of people I've actually been able to orgainse a race with on here is zero. The number of eraces I've actually seen organised on here is zero, no one has been organised enough to pull it off. It'd be nice to see one actually organised all the way rather than someone starting it then giving up half way through, or the more other "we organise them on this other site" instead.

Multiplayer (online) racing is limited to 8 racers, while series like the WRS still feature 20+ drivers every week.
And not everybody have a Gold account that gives access to online racing.

As for offline racing, it seems to me that the big question to answer is : how do people prove their times ?
I didn't investigate at all in this matter as I'm not finished with career mode yet (level 47 and counting), but we definitely need a way for people to prove their laptimes (similar to sending X-port or Maxdrive files with GT3/4).
The official scoreboard doesn't look like a solution since it only records your best time for a track and class.

Well i was referring to online racing. I've participated in a few offline series for GT3/4 and it was fun, but nothing beats racing against other players online.

I organise a little series at work which is pretty fun.. and although its "only 8 players" at one time, we rarely have a full padoc going.

Anyhow, i guess one important thing is also the fact that not everyone is of the same level... i for one, would most probably be beaten quite easily, but i still enjoy racing our little series, its a hell of a good challenge.

If there's interest, i could post those series here, but i don't have time to organise both at the same time, so someone else would need to take time and record the reply, take note of the times and post pictures and highlights.

While I've never been in an organised race with anyone here, I have raced with folks here, and it was pretty enjoyable. I even won once. :D

So, I'm up for an organized series. :)

Well the problem largely comes down to that the die-hard Forza guys are split up between two continents, several time zones, not to mention their schools or their jobs. Some of us have met up online, and while fun, it would be cool to get a bunch of us together at once. Only eight players is pretty limited, and from what I've played against, I can guarantee that our skills are all greatly varied depending on the car class and the track.

I'm still getting used to the game. I don't play it regularly enough to get used to Turn 10's 3D implementation, a problem I don't have with Gran Turismo. Besides I'm only level 37. After my trip next week I intend to spend some more quality time with Forza 2, finish the game, and try out Live Gold with a 30 day card to see if it's worth the money to keep going. But when I get netted, I'd be down for some racing with you real humans. ;)
