While re-doing the A-spec, I tried FT86 '10 (prize car, ~60hp less than AI) on the Japanese championship. At first I tried with SH tires, but couldn't get enough speed out of corners to catch up to the faster cars.

After seeing that AI used SS tires, I used that myself and it ended up being a really enjoyable event. I'm not an expert racer by any stretch of imagination, but consider myself to be at medium level. So, those who race Nurburgring at night in rain with a twinky in one hand might find it too easy.

FT 86 is a lively car and back end can step out if you step on gas too early. So, Driving it was quite enjoyable.

Managed to get in front at Tsukuba by 4th lap and stayed in front. But the 2nd place was never too far away and one slight mistake would have cost me the race.

Fuji looked easy and got out in front my the 2nd lap. But cooked one turn slightly and the NSX got out in front. After that, he just pulled away and I just didn't have the speed to catch him Finished 2nd on that one.

Grand valley wasn't too bad. Made a few mistakes, but nothing too serious. Wont it by about 3 sec.

Monza was disastrous. Cooked one turn and ended up in sand. Fell back to 12 and was able to slowly climb back. But the NSX has built up too much of a lead. However, managed a 2nd place finish.

Suzuka was the easiest. While passing the NSX, gave it a bit of a nudge to give it a taste of some sand (forgive me for that indiscretion). Once out in front, there was no real threat. On one lap, I was trying to exit the last chicane bit too fast and ended up in sand. Although I lost about 3 places, was able to catch up easily.

All in all, it was a really enjoyable event. As usual, the payout is dismal. But, that's what Bob and my X1 are for.

Give it a go if you're feeling bored.

Sounds good. Im currently doing the FR seasonal in a stock challenger, feels good beating it with that wooden steering wheel, but in the long straights you're screwed
