Car specifications:

732 PI Class R3 (100% Fully Upgraded) 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C

In-Game Difficulty Options:

  • Braking (ABS): Optional
  • Steering: Optional
  • Stability Control: Optional
  • Traction Control: Optional
  • Shifting: Optional
  • Suggested Line: Optional
  • Rewind: OFF

Standard clean OLR rules apply:

  • All Hard Surfaces are track. This includes rumble strips, concrete, cobbles, etc
  • If your lap gets flagged with the Forza Invalidation Indicator: /!\ Your lap may still count as long as it fits the rest of the listed criteria (i.e. two tires were on/above the track when the /!\ indicator came up)
  • However, if you get the Forza Invalidation Indicator: /!\ at the start of your lap, the lap will not count as you may have gained an unfair advantage at the end of the previous lap
  • Rewind MUST be set to OFF
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the game
  • Anything we haven’t thought of that could be construed as cheating
  • Save your replay and keep it safe for at least 6 weeks after the deadline

Submission And Participation:

When you have verified your lap is clean and the best you can do, visit http://frs.atspace.co.uk/submit.
Fill out each field and click Submit at the bottom to complete the process.

This week's time needs to be submitted before May 21st by 11:59PM Pacific Standard Time. This is GMT -8 or -7 depending on daylight savings time.

If you encounter any issues with the submission form or process, please send a PM to Terronium-12 or Jump_Ace.

Feel free to post your best times in this thread. You can compare how you stack up with other participants throughout the week by visiting the FRS Weekly Splits Leaderboard (which can be found here: http://frs.forzaplanet.net). Also note the following:

  • You can submit only ONCE (be sure to give it your best effort)
  • Please give it your best effort as sandbagging is highly frowned upon in the Forza Planet community.

Please refer to this Time Calculator Website to properly add multiple times together (when necessary) before submitting your time.

This is a friendly competition open to drivers of all abilities, so start racing and we'll see you in the results :) 👍

FRS Point System:

We have compiled a point system for the FRS organized by division:
Below are some key points on how it works:
  • Divisional Points are as follows:
    1st Place - 8 points
    2nd Place - 7 points
    3rd Place - 6 points
    4th Place - 5 points
    5th Place - 4 points
    Participation - 2 points
  • You get 1 point just for submitting the qualifier run and 2 points just for submitting a time for that week. The better you place for that week, the more points you will receive.
  • Your points will get reset back get 5 points total for being promoted to a higher division.
  • The points will reset every 4 months, completing a 'season'.
  • Once a season ends, the point system will reset back to week 1 using the following week's FRS combo.

Time Verification:

SPECIAL NOTE: When running your qualifier time. Please restart your session every 15 or sooner (10 to 12 laps depending on the track). FM4 will stop recording your replay after (roughly) 15 minutes. Thus, if you run your best lap after it stops recording, it won't count as you can't provide the replay.

Save your replay and keep it at least 6 weeks after submission:

  • Top 1-3 fastest times from each division will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide a replay within 3 days
  • Failure to do so will result in the submitted time being ignored for official registration
  • Video replays are not accepted (i.e. using camera phone, camcorders, etc.)

Submitting And Verifying A Requested Replay:

If a request is made for you to supply a replay, look in the results thread for a "(Replay Required)" to appear next to your name and submitted time. You may also get a PM if a replay hasn't been promptly provided.

Many hands make little work and if you can assist the Race Stewards in verifying each others lap times, it won't go unappreciated. Follow The Guide To Managing FM4 Replays to verify another drivers submitted time.

Remember to mark whether the replay was valid or not in the results thread:

- Clean/Valid Lap
rflagnv1.gif
- Dirty/Invalid Lap
bflagtp3.gif
- DQ'd Lap (only used in the results thread by the Race Stewards)

The code to insert a flag is. Remember to wrap them in an Image Tag;

Race Stewards Comments:

In memory of The King Cobra, Carroll Shelby, take this 427, max it out to it's full potential and have fun turning laps at Le Mans. His spirit will always live on, you will be missed Carroll.

Tune as much, or as little as you want :)

Remember to keep at least two tires on the rumble strip and/or within the white lines on the tarmac. Taking a turn too fast that causes you to go into a run-off, dirt, sand, etc. will invalidate your lap.

Because the FRS is a new series, here is a quick run-down of what you need to do to participate:

  1. Run the Registry Qualifier if you haven't yet, which can be found HERE.
  2. Now load up this week's FRS Car and Track Combo. Drive your best, clean lap(s). Post your results in this thread as you progress throughout the week.
  3. Compare your splits with other participants by visiting the FRS Weekly Splits Leaderboard
  4. When you've done your best, submit your time before the above deadline using FRS Submission Form found HERE.
NOTE - Regarding week's submission form, please leave the Division section blank.

If you have any questions, please post them in the Registry Discussion Thread.

Terms & Conditions of Participation:

When participating in the FRS, you hereby agree to the following terms & conditions:

  1. You agree to abide by the FP Rules & Guidelines: http://www.forzaplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=911
  2. Only one registered XBox Live Gamertag per FP member
  3. Anyone found, or attempting to have more than one registered XBox Live Gamertag will be excluded from all approved FP events and removed from the official FP_Registry.
  4. By registering you agree to abide to all race rules & driving standards laid out by the hosts of all FP approved race events.
  5. When using your official XBox LIve Gamertag registered ID in public or private races outside of FP's control, it is expected that you race to the standard that is deemed acceptable by the hosts of the given event.
  6. 7. You agree not to do anything that can be construed as going against the spirit of the game, either here at the FP or anywhere outside the domain of FP.
  8. The Race Admins will evaluate the registration of a player, after having been disqualified from a race for the third time, and subsequently have the right to disqualify this player from the FP_Registry in case they consider legitimate.
  9. Flagrant violations of the FP Online Racing Rules & Guidelines may result in exclusion from the FP_Registry.
  10. Most importantly, you are expected to have fun.

Good luck. 👍

If 715 PI isn't the max for this car, please let me know.

I take it tuning is allowed. Also I got it to 733 something with the superchargers and intercoolers, but this bumps the handling down a bit. I only got it to 710 without. Maybe I was doing something wrong.

Yep tune it however you want. At 715, it actually drives pretty well on this track with the default settings from the race parts.

I thought I installed every upgrade, even the NA tune. I'll double check this soon.

Jerome

I have absolutely no idea where 715 came from. I checked my car and it has 732 PI. Sorry about that guys. Race on!

Jerome

R.I.P. Carroll

Will try this out tonight. Is the PI for this the best tune we can get, no restirctions or is 732 the specific number we aim for?

I love the 2 wheeling pic Jerome.

So I have yet to tune this car but I am guessing that the rim selection is what is giving the discrepancy within the PI?

That may be it. I haven't changed rims and my car can only go up to 732 PI. I don't mind if people want to throw on newer rims, it's all good. I just need to know the actual max. I had no idea that rims could bump your PI

Got the Leaderboard started 👍

Jerome

Looks good fun but I'll probably end up spending half the week trying to get enough credits to buy the cobra after spending just over 3 million earlier today on paints, tunes and a few cars. I might just sell all my R1 cars which are never used to get this car, my weekend will mostly be taken up by watching the Nurburgring 24 hours and revising for a load of exams so I don't expect to get a competitive time.

Very long track to try and fix up a dirty lap on. Eventually got a 4:10.275. Afterwards I picked up a commemorative Carroll Shelby design by BlueReaper (free) I will have to do better to get it into a replay.

Awesome tribute to a great man, icon and even a Chili aficionado from East Texas. That sure is a lot of car to handle at 200+ mph even in a straight line. Oops, I was running the old version of the track. Just wishful thinking on my time.

Yea, just to double check, this weeks combo is With the chicanes 👍

Jerome

Yikes! When men were men and didn't need no silly fire suit. Great tribute to a great man. Those chicanes get me every time. If I ever get a clean lap I'm saving a replay ;)

Cheers,

Rusty

Hmmm, I'm broke. I just sold some cars and now working on getting up to the 1.5mil to purchase. After that will be running the car to get the level 4 affinity for free parts. THEN I can race. Spent majority of my funds on vehicles for my up and coming NATCA (North American Touring Car Association) series and the 90sTC (90's Touring Challenge) series.

Send me a FR. I'll buy the car and stuff. You tune it and we will both use it. I have 28,000,000 credits and might as well spend some. But you will owe me. ;)

Thanks oldmodelt, I did manage to make enough from racing to purchase the Cobra and parts. Now I need help taming this beast. I'm all over the place. No clean lap yet.

For those like me who felt they didn't have a place to start with this, I uploaded a tune. I am not by any stretch a "tuner" but gave this a shot and I think this will give you a shot at a clean lap. It may be rubbish, though, for all I know, so feel free to be frank with your comments. I run this with TCS on and simulation steering (you might understeer a lot with normal steering)

Now all I have to do is keep it on the track...

Hope this helps a couple of you out, and let me know what you think,
'Mater

Haven't run a single lap so far this week even though the car is ready to go. Hopefully I can get one in by the end of the week even if it's quite slow.

I used to absolutely hate this track. Now that I have ran a few 5-6 lap sessions, I have really grown to appreciate it. I really like how you can easily pick up a braking point or marker.

The last section of turns before the start/finish is really key to both your current lap and the next one so it is especially hard to conquer correctly. There are still some issues I am having but I am positive I can get a good time. I have something I am just OK with but I need to mess with the tuning, specifically the gears, in order to get the car to do what is needed to have a really good lap.

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! :irked::irked::irked::irked:

I CANNOT get a clean lap!

I put my tune on my SF. It is for grip with full downforce. It will get around the corners nicely but you will lose some straight speed (about 192 tops). It has gotten me down to the mid 4:09. Not a winner but quite easy to get a clean lap.

I liked the Tow Mater tune, but couldn't get the elusive Forza clean lap. Need to give the FtF tune a try later. Probably pulling the up the rear this week with 4:13.846 and it is on the 4th or 5th lap.

Hope it helped... I couldn't figure out how to set the price to "0CR" and google wasn't any help. (The lowest I could see was 1000, but clrealy there are plenty of free tunes out there.) Tips welcome.
