  • Rewind MUST be set to OFF
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track

Submission And Participation:

When you have verified your lap is clean and the best you can do, visit http://frs.atspace.co.uk/submit.
Fill out each field and click Submit at the bottom to complete the process.

This week's time needs to be submitted before May 14th by 11:59PM Pacific Standard Time. This is GMT -8 or -7 depending on daylight savings time.

If you encounter any issues with the submission form or process, please send a PM to Terronium-12 or Jump_Ace.

Feel free to post your best times in this thread. You can compare how you stack up with other participants throughout the week by visiting the FRS Weekly Splits Leaderboard (which can be found here: http://frs.forzaplanet.net). Also note the following:

  • You can submit only ONCE (be sure to give it your best effort)
  • Please give it your best effort as sandbagging is highly frowned upon in the Forza Planet community.

Please refer to this Time Calculator Website to properly add multiple times together (when necessary) before submitting your time.

This is a friendly competition open to drivers of all abilities, so start racing and we'll see you in the results :) 👍

FRS Point System:

We have compiled a point system for the FRS organized by division:
Below are some key points on how it works:
  • Divisional Points are as follows:
    1st Place - 8 points
    2nd Place - 7 points
    3rd Place - 6 points
    4th Place - 5 points
    5th Place - 4 points
    Participation - 2 points
  • You get 1 point just for submitting the qualifier run and 2 points just for submitting a time for that week. The better you place for that week, the more points you will receive.
  • Your points will get reset back get 5 points total for being promoted to a higher division.
  • The points will reset every 4 months, completing a 'season'.
  • Once a season ends, the point system will reset back to week 1 using the following week's FRS combo.

Time Verification:

SPECIAL NOTE: When running your qualifier time. Please restart your session every 15 or sooner (10 to 12 laps depending on the track). FM4 will stop recording your replay after (roughly) 15 minutes. Thus, if you run your best lap after it stops recording, it won't count as you can't provide the replay.

Save your replay and keep it at least 6 weeks after submission:

  • Top 1-3 fastest times from each division will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide a replay within 3 days
  • Failure to do so will result in the submitted time being ignored for official registration
  • Video replays are not accepted (i.e. using camera phone, camcorders, etc.)

Submitting And Verifying A Requested Replay:

If a request is made for you to supply a replay, look in the results thread for a "(Replay Required)" to appear next to your name and submitted time. You may also get a PM if a replay hasn't been promptly provided.

Many hands make little work and if you can assist the Race Stewards in verifying each others lap times, it won't go unappreciated. Follow The Guide To Managing FM4 Replays to verify another drivers submitted time.

Remember to mark whether the replay was valid or not in the results thread:

- Clean/Valid Lap
rflagnv1.gif
- Dirty/Invalid Lap
bflagtp3.gif
- DQ'd Lap (only used in the results thread by the Race Stewards)

The code to insert a flag is. Remember to wrap them in an Image Tag;

Race Stewards Comments:

This is stage 1 of a regional elimination, best in class (Class A) tournament.

The car that gets the most submissions for the week ('Vette or Viper), wins this round. Then that car advances to round 2 to face the winner from the European regional champion. That round will happen in the next couple weeks.

You can choose to drive the that is car is faster (in your opinion) to build up your FRS Series Points, or you can drive car that is the most fun that you would love to get behind the wheel again in later stages.

Feel free to share which car you will be submitting for your time, if you want. ;)

Pick your poison and Good Luck!

Here is an overview for the Best In Class (Class A) Tournament:

USA:
'Vette vs. Viper

Europe:
Car A vs Car B

Japan:
Car A vs Car B

Wild Card Car:
Car A vs Car B

Then we do elimination -

USA vs Europe

Japan vs Wild Card Car

USA/Europe Champ Vs Japan/Wild Car Champ - To Crown Our Class A Best In Class Car

More information about the Wild Car will come in the next few weeks 👍

Remember to keep at least two tires on the rumble strip and/or within the white lines on the tarmac. Taking a turn too fast that causes you to go into a run-off, dirt, sand, etc. will invalidate your lap.

Because the FRS is a new series, here is a quick run-down of what you need to do to participate:

  1. Run the Registry Qualifier if you haven't yet, which can be found HERE.
  2. Now load up this week's FRS Car and Track Combo. Drive your best, clean lap(s). Post your results in this thread as you progress throughout the week.
  3. Compare your splits with other participants by visiting the FRS Weekly Splits Leaderboard
  4. When you've done your best, submit your time before the above deadline using FRS Submission Form found HERE.
NOTE - Regarding week's submission form, please leave the Division section blank.

If you have any questions, please post them in the Registry Discussion Thread.

Terms & Conditions of Participation:

  1. You agree to abide by the FP Rules & Guidelines: http://www.forzaplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=911

Good luck. 👍

Choices, choices, choices ... is this the same 'vette that was in the Montoya Rival Challenge? It took me along time to get that one under enough control to succeed (barely) on the Indy circuit. This circuit might be a better match for the car.

For these cars I typically shift early/leave the car in 3rd for tight turns, or turn on TCS. This track is wide and suits these cars pretty well, just a couple of tight turns and the rest of the track they can stretch their legs out :sly:

Jerome

^ The one used in the Montoya challenge was the ZR1, this one is a lot easier to drive.

I've decided which car I'll use this week without even trying them because I think it looks better and I don't really care about points. Great idea on this A class tournament, I'll be sure to get some laps in for this.

Are we allowed to share what car we're using in this thread? I had a quick read through the post and couldn't find anything on this.

Yea, share away :) I'll add that in there.

Jerome

YES! What a great combo! AND we can choose our ride.

It will be hard trying to get a better lap tonight for week 8 when I already have week 9 on my mind!

👍

This is interesting. Since I don't particularly care for either vehicle, my choice will be which ever puts down the faster lap. So I'll be driving both.

Good to hear you guys are open to the idea. I was a little worried to be honest, hehe.

I've updated the FRS Weekly Submission Form to reflect this week's best in class. You must fill in which car you used for the time you are submitting.

Jerome

I was a little worried to be honest,

Seriously? It's a phenomenal idea! Adds a layer of "interesting" to the competition, which is always a plus. (some out there might find hot lapping boring...)

I'll start the speculation: a Porche for one of the euro cars? Or a wild card? I'd be happy to buy one car just for this...

I just tested both cars and vette is more tail happy then viper but I think the vette is going to be faster

vette 2:20.938
viper 2:20.784

Thanks man. As for the wild card, I had to use it because of the sheer lack of high end class A Japanese cars in the game. But I have that taken care of too. As for the European stage, I have two cars in mind....just in case ;)

Jerome

First few laps yesterday gave me a time of 2:19.863 with the 'vette, haven't tried the Viper. I think giving a choice of cars is a lot more interesting as you have some people that will try and find the fastest car while others will just drive the car they like more. I braked a little early into turn 1 and slowed down far too much for the kink for this lap but this is only early in the week.

I love turn 1 here. It's so much fun in a fast car to thread the needle with the accelerator and see the nose dip and the tires grip as you exit high speed the turn.

As long as theres a BMW in the EU stage, I'm happy as I love BMWs. Though a Porsche would be nice too *cough* 959 *cough* ;)

Just had a few laps in each vehicle and clearly for me, the Viper is faster.

*NOTE: For those who struggle with traction coming out of a corner and do not use TCS, I recommend the Viper. It grips better of the two.

I was afraid the corvette would just spin the tires off but its actually really quick and grippy. EDIT: 2:19.388 and clean by forza standards...hopefully theres some more time left in that car. I just need some more time with the combo to see if there is any that I can find

So far I'm at 2:21.588 in the 'vette and 2:22.131 in the Viper... it's interesting how little I drive on the this track. Not sure why.

just did a 2:19.782 with the vette for me it just seems faster I think there is hopefully more time to lose my target this week is to get under 2:19.00 but you never know when
you hit a crazy good lap

EDIT: nevermind.

Jerome

Z06 sure seems faster and no need for TCS with this one. Nice sound from this car after hearing the high pitched Zonda last week, no offense to those who love the sound of the Zonda.

2:23.689

I agree with you (half of your post anyway :p ) about how the Z06 sounds, it's crazy cool. Reminds me of an MX-5 in a way with the..... ticking sound, I guess, at mid to high revs. That's not the best word for it, idk.

Curiosity is getting to me. What view do you race in? In-car? Bumper? Chase?

I've been mostly bumper view but lately I've been driving IN the car. I tried the chase view today. Each view has it's pros and cons. Your thoughts.

2:22.320 with the vette. A sec quicker then the viper although I know I can get it to the 1:21 range. I'll give it another go another day. Right now I'm depressed watching the Rangers lose game 6.

I'm all about near chase, but part of me wants to start practicing with hood view for the sake of a mirror, and the more-realistic perspective.

I'm stealing someone else's words when I say this, not sure if it was an FP member or not, but the chase cams allow you to see (some of) the missing data about suspension and body roll that you could normally feel if actually sitting in the driver's seat.

Nice time. I don't think I'll be able to touch that.

Btw, WOOT WOOT on the Caps win!!
