335kw upper level, supercharged
Completely different to the Mustang, rather pointless. They supercharged the motor, achieved......the same amount of power as the Mustang? The torque curve is excellent, acceleration will no doubt be a relentless surge. But for the sake of a torque curve, they've added weight (still a 47kg weight savings over the previous model) and gotten no extra power. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is just rediculous!
It will of course no doubt out-accelerate the current HSVs on the market, I suppose handling vs the HSV GTS will depend on the suspension settings. The previous GTs were woeful.

I'm not sure why they'd think the '11 Mustang's mill inadequate, other than it's "not Australian." Maybe it didn't fit the Falcon, though I have a hard time believing that.

Jobs I think are the real reason. The city of Geelong in Victoria has a significant interest in Ford, where the Engine and Component plant is.

Article doesn't say, but I bet this thing doesn't Rev past 6k-6.5k.

This may also be a building block for a future push to get the 5.4L out of the GT500. Not that doing so is that necessary now that the GT500 engine is aluminum, but whatever.

Who's the bogan that left a giant spanner sticking out of the engine?

I only just noticed it appears to have 2 drive belts, I'm sure I'll get phone calls from people asking for a drive belt on their V8 and they won't know which one.:dunce:

The Ford made the new Mustang Engines to the German Quality. Amazing. Ford is my new favorite American car company.

Is that supercharger mounted upside down in the vee, blowing up into a manifold which I assume then curves out and around to the intake ports? Why else is the huge box on top the engine?

Okay, here's a pet peeve...

THESE ARE SPANNERS.

NOT THESE.

Thank you.

From the Cambridge dictionary

spanner noun /ˈ [C] UK (US wrench) a metal tool with a shaped end, used to turn nuts and bolts
