Hi all! I just downloaded Spec III after many, many, many tries  and then I find out that the game doesn't perform as well as it used to when it was just the standard edition. The original version ran at a perfect 60FPS with no hiccups whatsoever, but with Spec III, I'm not sure if I know the term correctly but I think there seems to be quite a bit of screen tear and the framerate definitely feels different. I have 31.6GBs free so I know that it can't be from a lack of space. Does anyone else have this problem? I have the 80GB EU PS3.

I get framerate drop every time I approach a corner that's got some other cars going around it. It's really bad if the corner is crowded. Besides that, the texture of the track goes blurry and loses all its detail for a second or two.

I haven't experienced this problem really, however I am using a different PS3 than you (a NA PS3 Slim).

I guess all I can think of is have you done a system update recently?

Yes I experience some frame rate drops like Jack expained, only with the AI bunched up in a corner.
I have not noticed the track being blurry, but my vision ain't the greatest.

Well, as I much as I tried to avoid doing it, I deleted the update (spec III) and redownloaded it again to check if something went funny with my PS3 in that it can't run GT5P properly but with the original install, it ran perfectly and I've tried Tekken 6 and its running perfectly as well as well as the GT5 TT demo except for the frame skip but a lot of people seem to have it so it must be a software issue. I remember asking a computer engineer about my original xbox suffering from a bit of slowdown in some games if the gfx card is malfunctioning but he told me when it comes to things like that, there is no middle ground, it either works or it doesn't, nothing in between.

The game is running consistently but its kind of hard to explain what it is exactly but it just doesn't feel as smooth as the original game.

I was thinking of giving Sony a call to ask them but I'm guessing that they'll just tell me "some games don't work as well others" and thats it which is a fair point but obviously, the main idea is that I hope its the game and not the machine itself. Its not old, I've only had it for a year exactly.

I've used 3 different TV's with Prologue.
2 of then are 1080p capable TV's, 1 is not.
The other TV claims to be an EDTV (enhanced definition).

When I used this EDTV I had to use the lower 480 PS3 settings or the game looked terrible.
I don't exactly remember the issues the TV was having but I do remember it was awful.
I think the edges were very jagged, it was months ago.

I don't think it's the game though.
Can you post a video of the problem for us to look at?

I just bought Prologue for my PS3 80GIG and have noticed this slowdown with Spec III.

I was quite disapointed to be honest.

Playing via HDMI in 720p.
