Is there a thread that covers the different types of frames? I looked in the write up thread but there wasnt anything specific for framing. I've noticed that a frame can really bring out a pic. I havent really used them but Id like to see the different options there might be. Would anyone be willing to share some of the frame styles you use?

Hi VR6!

I personally use frames for creating a "visual barrier" between the pic itself and the rest of the displayed stuff on the screen. Therefore I make the frame rather broad, but without fancy lines or so. It needn´t be coloured too, I think. So either a broad black or white frame, which one depends on the pic.

Look here:

or the rest of my gallery.

Prost!

IMO the first thing about frames is that every photo should have one. Well, almost always anyway, the photos just look better with them. I agree with everything bjc-3000 said, except that how broad the frame is depends a lot on the picture, the whole thing should look balanced.

I most often use a simple white frame. Usually I blur the edge between the frame and the photo a bit, how much depends on what just looks good to me. If the photo itself is very blurred/unsharp it's often better to leave the frame unblurred IMO.
