'sup guys? Back in June 2009 at E3, when NASCAR was debuted in GT5 shots, I became giddy like a schoolgirl, ever so eager to tackle Polyphony Digital's interpretation of racing stock cars at Daytona. While it isn't entirely accurate, going 230+ down the backstretch, it is quite UNRESTRICTED, which I found a whole new level of frantic fun. And it's been tough! I consider stock cars my bread and butter, and it's been frustrating to not be able to take the checkered flag at Daytona night after night! But last night, I made it close! In these shots, I'm driving the 24 once again.

The pictures start out on the backstretch with 1.5 laps to go, as I make a move and try to grab the lead on the high line. Here are the results.

Clearly, that didn't work out. No one came with me, and by the time we came back around to take the white flag, I dropped back to 6th spot. My chances are looking pretty bleak at this point.

For a brief moment, as we entered turn 1, I dropped to 7th place, but manage to get back behind Brian Vickers.

So, for the final time coming down the backstretch, I decide to break out of line once more, trying to make a move on the inside.

Finally! Some help!!

Brian Vickers shuts the door, getting in front of me, but at this point, it's clear I'm at least in the right line.

I get one hell of a run in the draft, and it's clear that if I'm going to have the slimmest shot at all, I'm going to have to make it three-wide going into three, and pray nobody wrecks.

Now I make my move.

I make it! Only one car to go.

I still have a ton of momentum, and as Junior occupies the bottom, I see no recourse but to run high, and hope it sticks.

Finally! The lead is mine! I'm clear coming out of turn 4 in a move reminiscent of the one Kevin Harvick pulled on Mark Martin in the 2007 Daytona 500!

And a final shot to show you how close the finish was...behind me :D

Cool photo story there. Well done.

That was awesome, must have taken a while to get all those greats shots!

It took a very long time, but it was all worth it!

All that work. And the commentary, yet all your pics look like all the cars are just sitting there parked on the track. lol.

This is awesome - well done!

(that was a fun read)
