This may sound a bit off in left field, but I'm offering some free gifts (hemets, suits, MC's, or paint) for a little advice on how to get my trading thread moving. Not having much luck with it. I'm offering alot of good cars for what I need, buisiness just isn't picking up so I ask, how the hell do you kids do it, lol. I'm a bit older than most of you so maybe I'm out of touch or missing something. Just a middle aged guy trying to complete his list. And please, as I know most of you and your general age range, no bratty little kid smartass responses. I'm being respectful, and even offering a little something, so I expect you to do the same in showing some respect. Any helpful advice will be rewarded. And please, don't make this into a I WANT, I WANT thread, lol. Thanks to all who help. Peace.

My only advice would be to not limit yourself to the trading thread you made, most people that trade a lot and/or are collectors have big schedules, so immediate trades (or trades in a shorter time-frame) are easier to find if you look on other threads and see what others want, then make offers on those threads and redirecting them to your trade thread or any other place where you hold your inventory.

That's how I have been working (well I never really started a full trade thread of my own..) and have always been getting a lot of trades since I started.

About age, I'm not sure your right about that...I know dozens of traders on this forum that are 30+ (yeah count me in).
That said, how can you boost up your trading...

*) your thread listing is slow as there are so many (big) pictures. This loads slow (for the kids with a mobile) and even for me with a Laptop.
*) sort the list of cars you offer (alphabetically)
*) Make the thread look nice to look at (design is often crucial)

Other important things would be a mygranturismo.net page with tickets/other stuff you have.

And last but not least a schedule so people know what they can expect.

I don't need any of the free gifts your offering, but I'm sure you can help some newbie out with them!

I didn't noticed it being that slow to load... but that's me and the internet I'm using here isn't exactly the slowest around...

as for the other points, ya I didn't mentioned them because I'm not to bothered by the looks, but you probably are right, it would help attracting people and make it more functional.

They shouldn't because all I put was links to the pictures but anyhow, you think I should remove them? Ithought it would be a good idea so people could see what they would be getting. Maybe not a good idea it seems.

Deep breath, now relax.

I find your tone a little aggressive sometimes. It is hard to show your emotions when writing but maybe that is something you can work on.

You will see the big traders in each others threads all the time. Even if it is just banter, they are there all the time. A lot of people feed off those threads to find traders they want to deal with.

I would trade with you except I am booked out. I send things out nearly everyday and I don't have a thread. But that is because I made the decision to not waste people's time when I don't know when I will be on and can't maintain the thread. So keeping your house in order is important too. But you seem to be doing well there. 👍

I see it being hard to work from the PS3 (specially if you don't have a keyboard)...

But they are right, look at your OP on that thread, because the pics appear immediately at default size, not just the links, it may have automatically put the IMG code there or something (not sure if that's actually possible).

In my opinion there are a few factors and this is not having a go at you it's how I generally see this place work.

The way you conduct, and speak to people goes a long way.
Some of its luck, this place is supply and demand so if you have what people need they will come.
Mainly it's big traders around these days so having complete sets of cars appeals.

I mostly trade with the same people these's days, that's not for any reason and I have no problem trading with others that's just how it's worked out.

Hope you guys don't mind, but I'm following this thread. I've noticed in other sections like Q and A and the general section that alot of people don't even know about the marketplace. Maybe we can try and get some of them to come over to the darkside!

I found myself in the same situation when my thread was first starting, I found that I needed to post in other threads to get some trades at first to get the ball rolling. Then as I got going I found people who were collecting the same stuff and we helped each other complete those collections there are many people looking for tickets pm or post in there thread and see what you can arrange. Also learn the switch glitch so you can offer 0/0/0 dlc painted cars that might attract a few more in the door

Hi Man 👍 you have too many pics in your thread, limit that to 2-4 pics as examples of what you can offer, people may confuse those pics as cars you actually have for trade with no other choices, think as a paint-service, you offer DLC-Paints, people ask you what car + paint and deal is made

I'm nut 100% sure, but I think I and a good portion of the others posted just to help, not really for the gifts... since most of the heavy traders already own all the gear, like me and Outeke.

I've seen this before you are very defensive and take things personal and then say no one understands me.

My whole point was the way you word your comments. Anyway never mind, we never seem to agree so I will stay out of your threads.
