Freezing Game

Hello guys, I am new to GT3. I got it a week ago and I absolutely loved it but I have a slight problem now. The game started freezing on load, it would say the stuff about drinking and driving, then it would say Sony Entertainment America presents... Boom black screen. I sit for 10 minutes, nothing. I thought maybe my disk had a problem so I went to clean it but no luck. So I look my PS2 apart and cleaned the CD drive's lens with a Qtip soaked with Isopropyl alcohol. I put my GT3 back it, it would get through the loading screen. BUT now it would freeze whenever I chose a race and clicked the ENTRY button.

What do I do? :drool: :nervous: :yuck:
 
Is it a chipped PS2 or are you using an odd gamesave of some kind?
 
That looks like it could be the problem. If you've eliminated the possiblity of scratches and disc scratches etc., the chip is probably causing it.
 
one more thing ...

I bought my first PS2 a year ago, with modchip and tried with not original GT3 (yes I am ashamed). Every time I wanted to race on certain few tracks the game froze. I didn't know what it was, untill I burned the CD-R with GT3 again with lower speed. Then it worked perfectly. But at the next paycheck, I got the original one, so that was it ...

But after one year that PS2 started not to read originals or copies and also freezing randomly. I returned it to "the store", and they found a problem with chip. I traded it in for a PSTwo without chip.
 
sorry, but i can't help but find this a little humorous :lol:

its like reading a label on a toaster that says "Do not insert knives into toaster while plugged in"
