Freezing issues?

Hey guys,

Recently I have bought GT6 from the PSN store and after long and tedious downloads and updates I was ready to play.

But, now that I have been playing for a big I started having issues with the game freezing every time I restart a race. This happens without fail in "Goodwood Festival of Speed" with the X-Bow r'12.

I have like 18gb still left on my so I don't think its a space issue.

I have reinstalled the game and then for each update I have left and went on the game to confirm its been installed.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes?

I had problems after the 1.16 update. I liberated an extra 12gb of space on my HDD by deleting unused games, after which I had no more problems with GT6 - I suggest you try the same because 18gb isn't a lot of space left.

I deleted more stuff, so now I have 28gb free.

Still game freezes when I press restart.
It seems like it only happens if the player animation is changing gear :/

I don't know what else to do

Yup! Signed out and tried it, seemed fine but then it just froze when I messed up!
The way I have been avoiding it is by waiting for the car to fully stop and all animations stop until I click restart

My brother just told me that he hasn't had that issue, so I played a few games on his account and it seemed fine..

Same PS3 just different profile/account

The "COUNTACH LP400" challenge freezes the PS3 no matter what I do. Every single time

I don't understand the issue behind this..

Only time I've had an issue like this was back when I did the Pagani Huayra new years seasonal. Almost every time when I would restart it would freeze my game, but other than that my GT6 works fine.
 
I've also had issues with the PS3 locking up when restarting a race or even a free run time trial. It's hard to pin it to something specific but to me it felt like it was locking up when there was smoke animations from heavy braking. I don't know to be honest but I've definitely had this issue occur. Probably 15times so far.

The other day we were in a online lobby and started a race. For me the race froze as the "GT" loading screen transitioned to the start line. I could hear my car revving, but the display was frozen. It was a transparent image of the loading screen and the start line.

Ps3 Superslim 12gb. 500gb HDD upgrade. GT6 is the only game installed. Disc version of the game, not digital download.

To all who think it is down to the animations on-screen at the time of pausing, I agree and I believe it may be something to do with the PS3 outputting GT6 @ 1080p [The hardware doesn't seem to like GT @ 1080p for some users] :mad: I had the same problems you've all mentioned with update 1.12 and it would happen dozens of times every day until just a few days after update 1.14 when I finally decided to switch the output down to 720p in hope of a day free from freezes. I even tried the 'delete and re-install all data' at one point before then which changed nothing.
Now I've only had a few freezes in those couple of months since switching the output. I know I shouldn't need to run the PS3 @ 720p for GT6 just to avoid the freezes [I have no problems with GT5 @ 1080p] but it's the only fix that I could find to work for me. :boggled: 👍

I have a 12gb super-slim with a 1TB HDD installed.
 
I've been experiencing frequent freezes since downloading 1.16. I did clear the network cache and that seemed to help a little. I only have this one game on a 250gb PS3 slim running at 1080p. Had no troubles up until 1.16.

How did you switch the output of the game on PS3? I thought that was only PC thing

So I've been playing with 720p and it seems like it has fixed the issue! Been playing for about an hour and it hasn't froze once yet!

I shall keep you informed.

Guys, I think setting it to 720p fixed it for me.

I've been playing the whole day without a single freeze. Did all sorts of challenges and races in National B and A.
