Freezing Problems

My PS3 has frozen up again while loading GT5, but the PS3 itself is locked up. I can't even hold the button in the front to shut it down safely. The only way to turn it off would be to cut the power to it, which would surely corrupt my data.

What should I do? :nervous: What can I do in the future to prevent it from freezing again?
 
I think your data only gets corrupted if you turn off while saving. Don't quote me on that though. I've had similar problems in that my ps3 used to freeze while loading gt5 but it turned off from the front power button.
 
Just got this -.-
Finished the GT WC B-Spec, last race done and I won.. guess what happened.. the screen froze.. I was able to hear the sound normally but that was it. Couldn't do anything but turning off the PS3 and now I can do everything again. -.- *rage*
