I was wondering what car you guys used for this.

I looked through all of the french cars and decided that the Renault ClioSport V6 with 211hp would be the best car for the job. After an oil change i started the race (stock cars only) and by the beggining of the second lap was up into second place. The problem was that the Berlinetta R/S Coupe was 14 seconds ahead of me, and i could only get back about 1-2 seconds a lap. In a 4 lap race this was not enough.

I looked at this car and it only had around 160hp. How can it be so quick? Does it have impeccable handling? The 4wd of the Clio handles the corners quite well.

I wanted to know what you guys think before I go and buy a Berlinetta R/S Coupe and get blown away by a 211hp Clio!!

Who says you only need to use stock cars? Just not racing types, that's all. I used the Alpine A310 and that was certainly modded - had to be to keep in front of that Hommel.

Did you say Clio 4WD? Isn't it MR?

I thought it was 4wd. And one of the requirements of the championship is "Unmodified Cars Only"

As far as I've experienced, "Unmodified" doesn't exclude tuned cars, but Race Cars, Touring Cars, Rally Cars etc.

Tune the Clio a little, and you'll blow them away. The Clio is a great car, with a couple of engine mods, you'll have no problem.

I used the '03 Cilo (the MR version with like 260HP) and slightly modified it was winning easily. Tuned it should have no problem.

Additionally, a tuned Peugeot 206 RC, which you'll want for the 206 race anyway, also wins without much trouble.

Both of these cars are also eligible for the Hot Hatch Championship and the World Compact Car Race, so that's cool too.

I won in a standard power, sports suspension Alpine A310...

I used the Alpine A110 1600S '73...er, the one won in the manufacturer race. The Hommel provided some competion, but nothing too serious 👍

Oh man. All this time I thought it had to be stock. :banghead:

So I can slap a turbo and stuff in there then right?

Makes me wonder how many other races i have done with a stock car when i could have tuned it!!!

Theoretically yes.

Yes, but (unlike me) think how much better a driver you are and the extra A-spec points you got for the hard work......

Anyway, no harm in spending a bit of cash on the Clio to make life easier - this championship makes you a bit of cash plus you'll need some mod's to do the manufacturer's races for this car.

I used the '80 Renault 5, lightly tuned, sport sus, no driveline upgrades. It ran out of steam before gears, but was pulling away nicely from everything down the straights, ran hand in hand through the corners, surprised me really.

I used the Berlinetta R/S Coupe it's a nice car whit a little tune, and if u can catch then why don't u use the practice to qualify........ :dopey: I used it in the 1º and last, nothing more easy :)

I used the Clio that you can buy new. I can't remember its name. Its got a white panel on the side. It worked quite well for me, but I had to get the Rollcage for it to stop it oversteering.

I used a Peugeot 205 T16 road car. I had to qualify 1st for all the races because I was underpowered, but I won in the end,

I started using a 406 Pug and got my butt handed to me by the Hommel, didnt think it was all that fun so I went and bought my own hommel, only to find when I went back to restart the championship that the Hommel was no longer there and by best opponent seemed to be a Pug 206. Suffice to say I won quite convincingly.

I used the ALPINE A310 1600VE '73.

Tires: Sports, Soft (S3)
NA Tuning: Stage 3 +Port Polish + Engine Balancing, gets 225 HP
Suspension, Transmission, Clutch and Flywheel - all Standard.
Racing Exhaust, Sports Chip, Racing Brakes.

I also used it to win the Apline Cup.
