In anticipation of the CSW and CSP v2 I wanted to get an ultra-realistic sequential shifter. I know others have modded them to work for Fanatec wheels, does anyone know the wiring for this?

Which is the best sequential?

Thanks

The dsd bent rod looks like a great piece of kit, but I think the frex would go much nicer with your rig IMO.

Yeah but I'm still running GT5 an Forza. I thought I saw a few months ago someone make the DSD work with their GT2 Fanatec and they could use it in PC/PS3/360.

This would be ideal, I won't order it unless I can do this. Need something that works in all 3. I know I saw this thread but the search option is not yielding what I'm looking for.

Yeah but I'm still running GT5 an Forza.

Amar212 runs his CSR-E with the Frex sequential that works both in GT5 and Forza 4 (and of course, PC as well). I remember reading somewhere how he had it setup and I believe it's quite a simple process of reconnecting the cables. But you do realise the CSW will not be FM4 compatible.

Yeah another person PM'd me much thanks :)

Can anybody link me to his thread? Also I'm using both the CSR-E and the CSW, I have a semi quick release plate that lets me switch wheels in about a minute.

^^^Huh? LOL

I'm an excellent metal/frame/pedals/modder but when it comes to electronics I'm as useless as an infant with it. Can you help?

on marcushwang.wordpress.com is also a tutorial on how to connect a Frex seq shifter to a fanatec wheel:)

I don't know how much more I can say it's really really obvious. There should be two microswitches inside of each shifter with two wires going to each one. Just cut the wires on the frex and splice them with the wires from the porsche shifters. This is literally 4 wires total. Since they are switches it doesn't matter (for each pair) which way you reconnect the wires because either way you are completing a circuit.

Much thanks people. Does anyone know of anybody who's opened the Derek Speare shifter? I've decided to go with that one because of the closed off look and the mount made by fastracksims.com

I might be able to help with some electronics if you can't find the info elsewhere, PM me if you like (I'll probably forget to check this thread).

I just ordered the DSD, hopefully I'll be able to accomplish this. Also ordered the FastTRackSims DSD mount.

I want to make my own seq shifter, is it possible to take apart a Fanatec one and use the elctronics on something you made? In theory just the wire contacts that connect for shifting need to work. maybe?

Yeah, absolutely, anything is possible... It's just the amount of work involved that changes!

It's pretty easy to wire the dsd myo the elite. I used my old porch shifter internal din connector just clip the wires on the microswitches and open up the bottom of the dsd and clip the wire from his microswitches the splice the din connector in. Close it up and ur done
