Friends not showing up under Community

I'm online and playing GT5 right now. I see one of my friends playing GT5 also and when I look for his name in the Community, he doesn't show up as being online. I've restarted the game multiple times and also have restarted my system. Is anybody else having this type of problem?
 
Have you Sorted the list based on the world icon so online friends are shown at the top of the list? If not then try it.
 
Return to the main screen (not the GT Life screen) Sign off. Sign in. Try that.

Make sure he's online, too! lol.
 
The green online light only shows up when he is using the GT Life section of the game. 👍

I could be wrong though.

Tried that several times. My friend is messaging me right now. This is becoming very old, very fast.
 
Have you thought he could be in another persons lounge thats not on your friends list if so he wont show up untill the lounge owner FR's you.

No, he's not showing up at all. This is the first time it's ever done this. It was working perfectly fine earlier. Plus we just meet in his lounge. He couldn't even come into my room.
