I played GT3 and GT4 with the standard controller, and I started GT5 with it, got all the way up to Level 27. Then I decided to get a Logitech Driving Force GT wheel, and started a new GT5 game. In two days I have gotten quite the hang of it, and I'm shaving tons of time off my laps and having a lot more fun doing it. The wheel is so much more precise and easy to use compared to the controller. I'm already up to Level 17 and driving a Peugeot 908 Matmut, getting 50.1 as my best lap time at High Speed Ring. (Grinding that race a little now, need to get up to Extreme).

I have absolutely no complaints about GT5, especially now that I'm using a great wheel too. For those of you who are still on a controller, trust me, you'd get SO much more out of the game with a good wheel.

And FYI, the DFGT cost the same as this game $60 new. 👍

I paid $100 for mine on black friday and just checked amazon, they are selling it for $122..newegg for $130

Alright seriously now, someone tell me how to get the wheel cheap in the UK. I'm sick of you guys getting it for less than a third of what I'd have to pay.

Where did you find one for 60$ new T_T??

I'm regretting not getting it when it was on sale for 70 during Thanksgiving... and now it is up to 120 on amazon.

I gotta agree, I'd been playing with a pad from GT1 right the way through to GT5 Prologue and considered myself pretty handy with it. I bought a DFGT and wheelstand pro especially for GT5 and although there has been a learning curve it has revolutionized the game for me.

Now enjoying GT more than ever, it now feels more like a simulator and I'm loving every lap. Cornering is now much more about "feel" rather than an exercise in fine thumb control.

In short, I'd recommend playing the game with a wheel to anyone who'se never tried it before. The DFGT is fantastic value for money these days, I can see myself upgrading in the future for sure but I'll be using what I have for a while yet.

Go to Ebay.com type in whatever you want, an make an account an a paypal account an start bidding!

Like you said, the wheel is more precise and easy to use. I tried using my controller again but it just doesn't feel right anymore.

I think the DFGT is around £80.00 in the UK on Amazon, Play etc. Certainly a lot less than the G25 & G27. I'd planned to ask for one for Christmas, then read about the new official wheel, then read that's $500.00 or whatever so the DFGT is back on my list :)

Got the DFGT as well. Paid $138 here in Australia. Makes the game so much better :D

What FFB you guys have it set on?

Mine is 3 and I got it set to Simulation.

I got mine on ebay for 72 shipped. It is more fun with a wheel too. It seems somewhat limited with a controller.

Order one from logitech hongkong, it's about 100quid but maybe a little more with posting. Thats what I'll be doing soon.

Ebay, Just find seller that will ship it to UK, and i also look for someone that sell them all the time, not just one time seller.

I staarted GT5 with dfgt only used the contoller for b spec/photomode and grinding indy oval when I can't be bothered to set up the wheel :p
It is a great wheel.

Got myself a Logitech DFGT about a week ago and yes it definately makes GT5 more fun (played 1-4 controller)

UK peeps: Cheapest I found was £80 from Gamestation

Using the wheel has made the NASCAR events my new favorite series.

You can actually hold a line 3 wide into the turns and not end up in a pile up!! It is a thrilling endeavor to be sure!!

i never used the wheel but i use the joystick on the DS3 and it works just fine for me. d-pad just makes me spin out.

For those wondering, I got it at Best Buy on Black Friday. Hadn't used it for a while after I got it but I wish I would have.

I got my G27 on amazon for 190$ brand new, and looked back last month and they back up to 300$ . I feel they raised the price just because F1 2010 / NFS and GT5 were coming out..... :-/

I have NO IDEA how Dick Smith can sell them so cheap. I'm picking mine up from there tomorrow, but everywhere else they're $300, even used on eBay they go for over $250, yet DSE can sell them brand new for $138? It just doesn't make sense! Not that I'm complaining...

My DFGT was dispatched yesterday so ,should get it monday(very slim chance of today).£107 on amazon uk.G27 is only £220 i think at the moment was very tempted i must say.

I'm still waiting for the Thrustmaster for the clutch, but yeah wheel seems like a big boost in overall enjoyment.
