It seems one of the most moaned about things with Gran Turismo right now is the inconsistent car list, divided into three 'factions' as it were. The Premiums, the Semi-Premiums, and the embarrassing PS2 quality Standards.

Despite everything, it seems the Standards are staying in GT7. Even if it is a PS4 game. However, it is at the same time crucial that PD puts forward a method of modernizing the selection. Wouldn't it be fantastic if PD were to announce a campaign, in which they gradually convert all existing standard cars into premiums during GT6 and GT7?

PD could complete the process one manufacturer at a time, in alphabetical order. They might need to bring in more employees to speed up the process, but if efficient enough, it could really catch on. They could bring in the new Premium models through regular updates.

Remember when the BMW M4 was added without an interior? Wasn't it nice to know that they added the interior in a later update? That's the kind of feeling we'd get out of it, but it would happen with your most treasured cars. Eventually, all of them.

Alternatively, PD could open votes as to which manufacturer next gets the Premium treatment, so favoured brands get the treatment earlier.

Overtime, the Standards will fade, and the Premiums will roll in. And before you know it, all 1200+ cars will be full premium models.

A 'Standard' to 'Premium' campaign, I think would work really well. I don't think it matters how long it takes to get the job done, as long as PD are proving they care about consistency. So why don't we raise the popularity of the idea, and see if PD decides to put it into action? They could open a separate division or something, that focuses purely on this campaign. They have the money to do it, so they should hop to it!

That's what they're doing right now, isn't it? Sure, the amount of Standards that were converted into Premiums in GT6 was minuscule, but the re-scanning of the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI and the Lancia Delta HF Integrale for "Gran Turismo PS4" way back in March 2013 suggests that PD have been remodelling cars for GT7 in secret all along.

They don't need to. They already know which cars and manufacturers the community favours from the online car usage statistics.

PD doesn't need to turn all standards into premiums, just convert the ones that matter, like unique cars & best/latest version of cars with multiple clones, and ditch the rest.

You would surely assume that PD will upgrade the Standard models over time. I guess the overwhelming majority will be semi-Premium, like the Nissan R390 cars, but it will eventually happen.

They must work on cutting the duplication and get the iconic cars prioritised - The Toyota GT-one is Standard yet we have a Premium Yaris.

I suppose, but I would like to see PD making an effort on a larger scale than they are now. That's why I thought it would be a great help if they were to up the employee count. As Standards are apparently staying in GT7, it suggests that the work force just isn't big enough to eliminate the standard cars in time for the PS4 debut of GT.

The problem with keeping the information hidden is that people wont get the sense that an effort is being made. No sense of connection. By ensuring that a certain selection of cars is scheduled to be premiumized in a stated update, it gives fans something to look forward to. There's a sense of progression and teamwork between fans and the developers.

Maybe I'm just worrying too much. At some point, yes. GT will have a full selection of premium cars (I'm hyped at the thought of it), but I'm curious as to how long this will take, and how well it's executed.

An organised campaign with full community connection would boost the efficiency of the progress me tinks...

That's easier said than done, when all standard cars are likely to return in GT7.

That's a really awesome idea. How about a new system? Players should vote for a car that will be made into premium, and in the next update, the top ten cars chosen will be converted to premium in the next update. Duplicates also should be premium.

Something tells me that low res Suzuki (I can't remember the name of it) would be the first of the candidates... xD I was amazed PD hardly touched it up... it was so bad, it was worse than what it was in GT4.... lol

You mean Suzuki Kei WORKS '02? That's the # 2 car we want converted to Premium, with # 1 being the JZA80 Supra.

Something like that yeah... this photo was from GT5, and I think the front was worked on a little, but the sides were untouched.

Even for GT5... this quality is appalling.. :(

Looks so horrible I can't even look at it. That's a car that should be premium, and fast!
