FRUSTRATING moments with GT3.

I think we all have our own frustrating moments with GT3.
As for me, it was like losing a girlfriend..

I'm 82.0% complete with the game.. Done the ARCADE and got my fastest laps in TIME trial recorded. My garage boasts all those DREAMCARS in GT3, including all F1 cars.. My current credit is over 10 million, and I'm done with all the License Tests except the last 3 in Super.. Machine TEST holds the record of my unbelievably superfast cars while I refine my tuning skills with 'em..
Everything seems perfect! I think it would be ONE WEEK more and I'm good to go for 100% completion..

😈 😈 😈 ...then the PROBLEM. :mad: :mad: :mad:

One day, my relatives visited the house (And I wasn't home yet that time, Yeah... I think I was with my girlfriend..).. and they played with my PS2.. (OH! and I left my MEM card stuck there!) My Gran Turismo 3 DVD was there and I believe they really had a great time playing with it! The only thing.. which really pissed me off, was that for some reason... I think they meddled with the FILES and accidentally deleted my GT3 file. When I got home and was ready to play with it... I was damn shocked to see that my money went as low as 18,000 and my CARS were all gone and Game Completion is back to "ZERO" and everything wasn't right I know!
That time, I thought I was just dreamin'... but it's real. :( :( :(
I immediately thought of my ENDURANCE RACE going nothing. :eek:


What actually happened? Only God knows why... :cry: :cry: :cry:


Whatever happened back there, I believe I'm not alone with this... I know a lot of you GT racers have your own "moments-of-hell" with GT3.
Some may even be worst. :p :p
 
Oh man, that sucks! I hope you've caused them a significant amount of pain! I won't let anyone near my Sim mode!
 
Oh man! I am so sorry dude. That complete blows! Sony needs to make a fingerprint ID memory card. :) :p
 
In some countries you can go to prison for pulling stunts like that!! :) ...except for everything-is-legal-land ofcourse...
 
My sincere condoleances, this is a crime that has taken place. let them :rip:
 
I had the same thing with GT2. I had just gotten done makeing and setting up 15 hybrids.....took me several weeks to get them the way I wanted. So I let my brother play, and he overwrote my game, so I deleted his, and anyother ones I had(I had 2, 2 sided mem card, with several GT2 saves). Big mistake. I ended up with nothing, and I was really pissed. I had told him to switch mem cards and which one to use, but he "forgot". Yea right, you can't forget that soon. :rolleyes:
 
Oh man, I'm sooo paranoid about something like this happening to me :eek:

It's gotten to the point that I go to the extreme that if I know some punk is going to watch a dvd then I'll just take my memory card out and keep it as far away from them as possible. When I did this recently to a bunch of mates, they thought I was a bit...well...erm....twisted.

But I just can't afford to take any chances...I've got loads of replays...some nice times in the time trials...48 golds in the licences...and JUST ONE RACE LEFT IN THE WHOLE GAME (the R246 Endurance, the longest one :sleep: ).
 
Wow. That totally sucks. What is maybe one of the worst parts is that you had ALL the F1 cars! I have 2 and you have ALL! Then people come over and mess things up. Wow man I am so sorry. I almost feel like giving you my data to make up for the loss. (Thats okay though I know you dont want it) ;)
 
Why don't any of you guys buy a second memory card, for backup - and then keep it in a safe place ??
It's not that expensive - and the money is well spent.

Well, I try to avoid those problems with this one IMPORTANT RULE!!!! I and ONLY I can touch the power switch. If I'm not around, I can't turn it on. Therefore, you can't play.

That rule comes with a little note attached....

yea, I just pull my ps2 memory card. the way I think, if somebody wants to save somthing without me present, they better have their own card. I leave the PS1 one in the #2 slot because then if any nieces or nephews wanna play, it looks like its got a card. they can't figure it out and I can just say, I dunno, must be screwed up, lolol. The only memory card mistake I have ever had was when I was hardcore GT1. I think I was just an idiot and pressed the wrong thing, I lost millions of bux worth of cars, had to start all over. I was pissed for about 3 seconds and then started playing and had a blast all over again :D Still, it is frusterating to lose it all..

People have been killed for less,some have even disappeared never to be heard from again!
 
holy God that sucks,

I remember back in the ps1 days, I had a mega memory card that was a bit iffy, if you turned off the ps1 with it still in it would lose everything, so basically I had to always be REALLY careful, if I had loaded a game I'd take it out right afterward, in case the power went out or something....

I didn't just have gran turismo stuff on it, I'd have to really think because it was a ways back there and I forget which games I had on ps1, but I know I at least had gt1 and gt2 (crapload of stuff from both) some other smaller various arcade titles...

and my prize... metal gear solid save games, a bunch of them, I mean a bunch, I had beaten the game at least 3 or 4 times and had done all sorts of side things and done everything perfectly and just had saved games from all different points in the game,

then one day my sister came over and my nephew wanted to play video games, of course no one came to find me and let me set it up for them, they just said "oh I think stick this in there"

needless to say I was about as traumatized as you about losing so much time spent, I dono if I had as much time invested in all that as you did in gt3, but I certainly feel your pain :(
 
I always pull out the memory card when others play any one of my games. :o
 
I never let anyone use my PS2 with my memory card in there. Plus i also have a second memory card, in a small locked box just for emergencies. :lol:
