The coolest thing, for me, at the Detroit auto show wasn't the cars, but the Ft1 inspired driving seat. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of these!!

Well, it was put together for GT6...
Uh, no it wasn't. It was put together for the North American International Auto Show. Polyphony just decided to put it into GT6 on a whim. Why would Toyota spend time on something purely for GT6, on top of VGT design?

Did you watch the video? He's referring to the racing seat setup that the guy was playing GT6 on...I'd say it's relevant.

What he's saying is very ambiguous. I didn't know he was talking purely about the racing seat. I assumed he meant the entire car when he said...

Who knows why those seats were there anyway.

The thread is called "FT1 driving seat" ... What else would it be about other than a driving seat?

Because in the video he clearly states that the car has made it's debut in GT6 as well, and the seats were shaped like the Ft1. That isn't just a happy coincidence. Polyphony can't put any car in "on a whim" especially with the amount of lead time needed to make a car. Not to mention the ingame message refers to the NAIAS. As for why, there is this thing known as marketing and cross promotion.

I'll remember not to share next time.

That's cool that Toyota did this, Chevrolet did this for their Corvette Reveal on GT5 last year at NAIAS as well. They had a scoreboard and everything..

The wheel wasn't calibrated at all, but I still managed to top the leaderboard for the day.

Ford's however, was much cooler. They had a full motion simulator on Hydrolics which had a time challenge, and that was where I really wanted to do well.

I got up there, and beat the daily lap record by 2 seconds, which was good enough to have my name up on the huge LED wall at the FORD section. Was pretty cool seeing me name on the wall from across Cobo hall (Cobol?).

Did they say it was inspired by the FT-1? It looks like the same pods we had at the GT Academy finals to me.
