FTP problems

This really has me stumped.

I used to LeechFTP, randomly someday it just came up with this message:
! An unrecoverable error occured on styles.shockv2.net

When trying to connect to any site.

I tried another FTP, Filezilla.
Worked fine for a while.. now it randomly freezes my PC while uploading.
I tried another FTP Voyager and FlashFXP.
These both randomly freeze upload, but not freezing my PC.


Anyone know why this is happening.. This is really annoying
Any help is appreciated
 
If this is happening a lot, most probably you have the wrong details for the site you are uploading to. As for firezilla, it's probably a minor problem with your pc running too many programs, it can happen to anyone. Voyager and the flash one is probably a similar problem - if you have too many programs running, the program gets frustrated. Happens to me with windows movie maker, i have to have no other major tasks running.

So, try checking your details, and then closing all other big applications.

It can be the only program activily running and still freeze, the details are 100% correct, since i can use the details on another PC with no problems
 
How is your computer hooked up to the internet? I have to use one of our PC's that is hooked directly to the router. It doesn't work well to upload using one of our PC's that is across the wireless network.
 
Are you in binary mode?

Also check wether you should be using passive ftp or not. <---- most likley cause.
 
Cardude my PC is hooked up on a wireless internet...
So your saying this is the cause..
If theres any way to fix it please let me know...

I use a PC that is hooked directly to the router because wireless PC's don't work well for FTP. Also, make sure you check the mode like DQuaN said. It can make a difference. You also probably want it to send NOOP like every few seconds.
