I just got done participating in a race online

10 laps - just over 1 hour

Fuel consumption and tire wear was set to normal. At the end of lap 8 I had 1/4 of a tank left of fuel exactly. I hadnt added any fuel up until this point

Shortly after starting lap 10 I ran out of fuel. What the hell happened? 7 liters of petrol have vanished from my car costing me 2 positions.
 
So essentially you used 12.5 more fuel on the last 2 laps. Was this at route X or another 10+ mile track? If so this can be attributed to a lot of factors.. 1-7 laps your car is gaining HP making it easier to pull your own weight. Lap 7-10 your car is loosing power using more fuel to keep up with the pack.. Also you could of had instances where maybe on those last 2 laps you may have lost draft or lead the pack more then you did the rest of the race.. I may check this out for myself offline later (as I have no Internet at home right now -_- ) .. What track did you race on? What car did you use? What was your top speed set at?
 
The last 1 lap actually. About 2 minutes into lap 10 I hit the red bar. I used slightly less than 1/4 tank in only 1 lap.

It was nurburgring nordschleife. 12 miles. The car was fully broken in so I was losing HP from the start. Also. I was all alone for most of the race. Very rarely was I in someones draft.

I was however on a Japanese server playing with only japanese people. and I live in california. so my best theory is this is somehow lag related.

I was using the arta nsx '06 at 493 hp, top speed i believe is in the 218 area
 
Or the fuel gauge is not linear, same as the tire wear, both drop and drop and then near the end fall off quickly. I've been bitten by this on the 9 hour race, best not to play the fuel too close.
