Let's say that you are on the middle of the 24H Le Mans. You lead by a good 40 laps and you need to do something else, but don't want to pause the game. So you make a pit stop, refuel, get back on the track and just pull over and wait there.

My question is: will the car consume the fuel eventually or if i come back after 2-3 hours it will be in the same level as i left it? Basically is there any chance to run out of fuel and lose the race that way?

I'm thinking of starting the 24H races, try to get a good lead and do exectly that, instead of pausing the game, when i need a brake or have something else to do.

You paused the game. Nothing gets consumed except your electricity.

He wouldn't be pausing the game. He's just letting time run out while he does something other than play GT5.

As to your question, i'm not positive but I think that fuel usage is distance based.

When you are on empty you can still go 50mph. So just to be safe you can pull off on the dirt a few feet from the pit entrance before leaving your car parked.
