I was wondering how to check fuel while driving cockpit with the instruments turned off.
Some cars have a fuel gauge, but I don't really know if it's working, or just beeing there looking nicely..

How do you guys do enduros while driving cockpit? Leave the instruments on? :/

Drive the Gallardo or 458... Both their fuel gauges work in the cockpit. Dunno about any other cars though.

I raised this question soon after we were able to turn off the HUD. As far as I can tell, no car has a working fuel gauge. :( It does make it a little difficult to run an immersive endurance race as I can tell when my tyres are shot but not when I'm low on fuel.

I have yet to test every car, perhaps the ones with digital readouts, like the Mazda 787B, has a working dial.

Haven't seen any indication of a fuel gauge in the 787b...
I can live without knowing the level of my tyres, as I can clearly feel it when the car starts to loose grip..
Guess I'll try the gallardo, and hope that it really loses fuel on the gauge :3

I'm going to try out the Gallardo today because this is something I have wondered about too lately. I don't have my PS3 hooked up to a HDTV so it might be a little hard to read it.

I got a quick question but it doesn't relate to this very much. Does anybody know why I do a race online and it doesn't add any miles to my car sometimes?

In the X2010, the Fuel gauge in the cockpit doesn't appear to work.

I haven't driven a car yet where the fuel gauge works.

the 458 Italia fuel gauge does not work, I used it at the Nordscheiffle 4h endurance and it never went below 3/4

The only gauges which seem to work in the cockpit are the RPM, the speed (although many are in kmph), and the gear indicator. I've noticed a clock in the Fairlady 370Z and it read 10:43 so I was hoping it was right (as it was indeed about 10:43 at the time). Unfortunately, the clock is frozen so it is only right twice a day.

This is factually incorrect. The oil pressure gauge works in my NA Mazda Eunos Roaster.

Apologies, I forgot that the lights and oil pressure work as well.

In relation to the 787B and others:
I may be wrong, but I don't believe many race cars have a fuel gauge. Don't they just have a low fuel light? The fuel load is usually measured/calculated by the engineers in the pits.

Guess that I'll just refuel to the max when changing tyres...should work okish I think.

The 458 fuel gauge is the bar on the bottom left of the dash screen.
The Gallardo works, bottom right of main cluster.
Don't know why people are still saying "I've never seen a car with working fuel gauge" when I just told you about 2 (only 2 I know of, but there could be more).... Go try them. Maybe more cars will have working fuel needles in time with more updates.

So I've found another car with a working fuel gauge...the nissan silvia s15 :-)

Does the GT-Rs fuel gauge work? Cause it has such an awesome cockpit...

Some cars have different working accessory gauges. Like in the Mustang Mach 1, I believe I noticed the Odometer actually working. In the Ford GT, the boost gauge works. In the viper, it shows zero Oil pressure, yet in the Miata the oil pressure gauge works.

I do believe PD should enable the gauges they put in the game. No point at a nice cockpit with gauges pegged at Zero.

The GT-Rs really should work because it's PD who designed it...

I find it funny that they designed a working oil pressure gauge in a game without engine damage, yet the fuel gauge doesn't work.

The clock in the 370Z works for me. It'll change. BTW, for the 24 Hour Endurance run, would it be a safe bet to run an R34 with full race mods, or a Le Mans Prototype?

The clocks works on tracks where the time changes. I had time passing at 10, and my 1969 camaro's analog clock was flying. The clock in the 370Z works in unison with my clock at my house on the Eifel circuit in Seasonal. Oil pressure works, as well as boost gauges in every car I've tried so far(or been able to see). The R33, R32, R34, S15 Silvia, Supra 3.0 GT (the one with the 7M-GTE), and a few other cars I own that I can't think of at the moment. The clocks don't work on tracks that don't progress through time.

Boost gauge on the GTR R35 works too.

Clocks work in the cars, but they show the tracks time. So during an online race on the Nürb(Change time version), the clocks will change as the track time progresses. Best what the see this is set the profession to 60.
As for fuel gauges an others, they get screwed up when you tune your car.
