full page popup causing issues.

Jordan how often are the full page ads supposed to happen? I leave the site open on a tab in firefox pretty much all day and it seems like every time I come back after 10 or 15 minutes I get a new one. Also the Halo ODST version of the ad seems to be causing a major slowdown and temporarily locks up firefox (including the countdown timer)
 
I, too, have found that they have greatly increased in frequency, and are definitely annoying me, but I realize that they are what you would call a "necessary evil." I also experienced the problem that land sea air mentioned about the Halo ad: it takes a few seconds to "regroup," unfreeze itself, and actually skip the ad when you click that button.
 
Got the halo ad again, caused the same issue and had to restart firefox (not responding error). Still getting ads more frequently than I thought was normal (what is normal frequency?)
 
The pop up add problem has been out of control again for about a week. I try ignoring it but its practically every time I come back to this site.
 
I agree, it's very annoying. I'm a premium member, so I only have to deal with these popups when I log into a computer (usually at work). But I don't get it. I type in: www.gtplanet.net/forum I did NOT type in Axe Body Spray or Halo 3. 👎:mad: I can't imagine what it would be like if I didn't have premium like you guys.

Wow that sucks. And ya know...it's not like I've never heard of Axe Body Spray or Halo 3, do they really have to force their stupid ads onto us in such an annoying fashion? Matter of fact, I can vouch that I personally will NEVER try Axe Body Spray due to these ads. 👎 Halo...well, it's Halo, so I gotta try that at some point. :indiff: But those ads suck.
 
I've seen these interstitials becoming a bit too common as well. I believe their per-user cap is on an hourly basis - the problem seems to arise when more and more advertisers purchase this type of advertising. As a result, despite the frequency cap, someone can see more than one interstitial per hour. I'll contact the ad network and see what they can do about that.

I installed ad blocker plus which has helped the problem. However when using another computer the Halo ad still causes lockups I clicked "go advanced" while editing a post and the ad popped up completely disabling firefox and requiring me to restart it. I would say this is a more important issue than frequency.
 
If I am away from the site for more than 5-10 minutes and come back, I get the pop ups again.
 
I made some adjustments to our pop up blocker. Hopefully that will help.
