anyone feel gt5 can only be so fun. It just gets stale, yeah dlc are fun when there good so far not many, they only last so long. and online on gt5 is ruined by drag trade show and rude drivers. Im sorry but forza really never gets boaring with liveries and car selecton tracks sounds its all good in turn 10.

I'm not sure how you slate GT5's online racer's and then go ahead and praise Forza. Have you ever raced online in Forza? Can be a total nightmare.

He never praised Forza's online, so there's your answer.

I have kept myself busy with 2-3 lap races around the Nurburgring 24H track in Hondas equipped with CS tires. Especially with a wheel, it can be quite fun.

I think it's fair to ask if he has ever played Forza online when he has already attempted to play GT5 online.

Totally agree. I didnt buy the game on the release. Actually i bought it 4 months ago and im already getting bored of it. The DLC are okay but if it had the customization of Forza i would of been playing this 24/7.

If you aren't in it for the cars you will get bored easily.

It's the love of cars and driving them that keep me interested. Forza is without a doubt a better "Game" and GT is a better driving simulator.

Can you say troll?

I personally have met many great people who I now call friends racing online.

If you enjoy racing and have the ability to switch tracks, performance levels and have the connection with a great deal of like minded people. The options are almost limitless and still get my heart pumping. I have had the game since the day it was released.

GT5 has its flaws but if you are bored then I suggest moving on and letting those who still have a great time enjoy the game.

I personally have found GT5 to have lost most of its flair and has generally become stale for me also. I don't play online much anymore as it usually is just a disaster. I normally just stick to doing the Seasonal Events and TT's and also take part in the WRS TT's. I still practice daily for about 5 hours for the next Academy. Other than that, GT5 has baisically run its course for me.

Forza on the other hand, I am finding myself putting more and more time into each day due to the numerous number of things there is to do in that game. I am neither a Forza or GT fanboy so when I say this, it is completely an unbiased opinion, but aside from the physics, GT just feels generic to me compared to Forza. They are both great games, but I think that if Polyphony doesn't come through with something good for GT6, I really think that Forza is going to be the game to have between the two of them. Its like GT has been stuck in the same old rut, release after release. They really need to revamp their whole gameplan and come up with some new and exciting things. Now I'm not saying they need to copy Turn 10's ideas, there are alot of other things they could come up with. And lets be honest, even with the physics being as good as it is, it is not without its flaws. Its like where Forza shines, GT fails, and vice versa.

Sorry if I've kinda went in another direction with my post in regards to the OP's original intent of the thread, just thought I'd give my two cents since I have and play both games.

I have both games too. Personally I think gt is a better game, but I have more fun with Forza. Forza is way easier to master and has a livery editor, which I love. But that's just me. :)
Gt however pushes me to become a better driver at least with the normal controller and directional buttons, (yup, I'm old fashioned) while forza is not that difficult with wathever settings you use.
Personally I think online doesn't differ that much, you have rooms with rude people everywhere in every game played online, that's neither gt's or forza's fault, idiots are to be found everywhere. (also personal opinion :))
But if you're really fed up; there are many more games you could play to keep you busy. At least I don't think you bought a ps3 just because of gt5. (I hope not)

edit: the only things that are really annoying about gt5 are the loading times and the server connection time-outs, they tend to take a lot of fun away. ;)

I really enjoyed this game alot. I still do sometimes, but theres nothing really left that you can do and the fact that GT6 is nowhere to be seen these few years isnt making it better. Ive been playing alot with friends. We even do a few events a week. What I meant with the customization was that if it had visual customization i would be playing this way more then usual. Keep a note, this is all my opinion about the game.

We need to hear this, why? Sell it & move on. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out...

How can you be bored? I'm looking forward to spending several hours deleting paints because I've once again reached the maximum amount of items. [/sarcasm]

I feel as if there are too many menial tasks and not enough gaming/racing. The clumsy and slow menu navigation is part of the problem. I've got a spare account that I'm collecting online dealership cars and it takes 50 seconds to buy 1 car.

Another thing that bothers me is that everyone doesn't have the dlc tracks. This means we won't race these tracks so we don't exclude anyone. Semi-OT but tracks shouldn't be DLCs or everyone should be able to race them online. It is just one thing that could be done to provide more variety and get more people racing.

I like parts of GT5 but PD hasn't shown me anything to make me consider GT6. My money will go towards a new quad-core and some sort of pc simulator.

To me, GT5 is just ashes scattered away in the wind, lost forever. It died a long time ago for me. I truly did everything I could to keep playing. Joined online leagues, obtained almost every car, tuning, practiced driving with ABS off, gave drifting a shot, you name it. But the fun did not last very long at all.

It's just a game that doesn't want to be enjoyed in my opinion. GT5 just tries to do so much and fails, causing most of the game to become shallow.

I think Forza beats GT5 in almost every aspect. GT5 does has a few things I wished Forza had such as time change, weather, and an accurate Nurburgring. But that's it. And after playing Forza with a Fanatec, I even think it beats GT5 in the physics department.

I always think of it as a driving simulator. Like someone above said, its about the cars and driving, thats it.

As a racing game i have always felt this game fails. GT4 was overall the best in the series in my opinion. I obvioulsy prefer the look and physics of 5 but 4 was the better game.
Never reallly liked Forza. Only played 3 and 4 but just not a fan. It's a better racing game but I really dislike the physics. It's a shame shift2 had lag, as I think that was the better racing game on console.
I do think GT5 is hands down the best driving game on console though. It depends what you are looking for.

still playing a couple of hours a day, i'm far from bored of it but I watched Tiffs comparison with other games on 5th Gear and accepting his word I went out and bought Dirt3, after 20 mins being sick of the loading times and arcady feel, I went back to GT5 (have a SSD) and wow it's more amazing when you think what the choices are.

This game still hold my attention, and will do until GT6 makes its appearance. This game, and any other, is what you make of it. I still race online two or three times a week, meeting great people and making friends as I go...

I know what the OP means. I've been trying to get my garage completed. As such each car I buy I will upgrade and tune to a level where the car is enjoyable - usually stacking a few hundred miles before I buy the next car. But lately I've just been getting bored very quickly. I played for 20 minutes yesterday before I just kinda sat here thinking that there's nothing left to do, and turned off the system. I hate that. Maybe because I was younger, but I never thought that about GT4 or Forza. To say GT5 doesn't have lasting appeal would be false - I mean I've been playing fairly consistently for two years now! Not too many other games can live up to that.

How is this Q&A? You're not asking a question about the game with the purpose of filling a need for information, you're simply sharing an opinion... (and it sounds an awful lot like yet another "GT vs Forza"-thread.)

Examples of Q&A are:
"How do I paint the cars in GT5?"
"Is manual transmission faster than automatic?"
"I have a problem with getting a connection to the server, can anybody help me?"

Examples of what's not Q&A:
"What do you think about the new DLC?"
"How many cars do you have in your garage?"
"GT5 is boring."

I have been away from GT5 for two months and recently picked it up again.
It was fun for 10 minutes. Then i remembered why i put it down in the first place.

The thing is; the game is fundamentally flawed.
The only thing I really like is the handling/physics model and the extensive, yet flawed, tuning aspect.
Everything else is either too arcade-ish or half baked for my liking.
As a result I end up doing nothing but free run testing and tuning.
Most other aspects are massive frustrations!

I have very little hope that GT5 will ever be the finished product i was hoping for.
I have very little hope that GT6 (if released before i die of old age) will ever be that game I yearn for.

Perhaps:

*Sigh* This has all been done to death...

*Sigh* This has all been done to death...

Indeed: this isn't even the first thread the OP has attempted with the same basic premise.

Seeing as how we already have dedicated FM vs GT threads, feel free to head to those.
