In the TT mode I went to practice, I have choosen the NSR250 SP RM '93 as my ride. I choose Grand Valley East circuit. Then the game ask for Free Run or Free Race. I choose Free Race and got to choose my 'sparring partner'. I just chose the street ZX6R.
As it starts, the ZX6R is far ahead, then I did a lot of late brakings & maintain good momentum in corners, after almost 5 laps I manage to close my gap and then pass the ZX6R at tight corners around the back of the circuit.
At one time, I was leading the ZX6R into the start/finish line then I heard it came closer then passes me like a fighter jet at the end of the straight then I tried hard to close my gap, late braking again, pass again.... that was fun!
I am not telling you this story to tell you I am good, but to tell you to try it....because it's FUN! I haven't try other opponents but with 100+ bikes this feature is going to be really FUN.
note* I ride with 'semi-pro' mode and 'failure condition' set to off.
