Functional differences between Staff Emeritus and other members?

Seems a perfect time to ask the title question. One that I've held on to for a while.

In my opinion there is more than one suspect user under the banner of Staff Emeritus. Should there be any cause for concern about the power they wield, or the power that can be wielded toward them? I note that @daan recently found an apparent point of difference.
Count yourself lucky I don't seem to have a warn button for a staff "emeritus".
I would hate to think that a rogue could use any residual power (access to private details included) against other members. I don't doubt that S.E. could be banned, but a full compliment of reprimand options does not appear to be at a moderator's disposal.

From what I have read into and I even asked is that S.E is just like staff and would have access to everything however their not considered full staff since they are "retired" sort of speak. Where they don't have to "monitor" as much as other real "staff" or Moderators or whatnots.

I find it that something like that shouldn't be done even if the are former staff or mods or anything like that shouldn't be like any other member. Should have like Premium status instead of residual powers of the Mods.

Only way I could see it being useful is if they are like taking a mini "vacation" from being a mod.

Differences between them? Just the name.

This is covered in the "What are the differences between moderators?" section in the FAQ:

https://www.gtplanet.net/faq/#about_gtplanet

Essentially, they are Premium members with access to the Moderator's private forum. They do not have access to private member information and can be warned or banned like any other member. I'll have to look into why @daan doesn't see the warn button for a staff emeritus; it's probably a bug.
