Future features for Online GT5 involving chat?

So the servers are down and I was messing around looking at error messages (dont ask) when I got the following message :

Because the online features of this game rely heavily on
communication between players, accounts with the chat
function disabled cannot be used to access them.

So this is getting me thinking what sort of event would use chat?? New features for online are definately coming it seems (based on that).

As I find more or anything else I will post it.
 
i think it refers to the chat feature when you go into someones lobby. The chat tells you what the host has changed as far as race requirements, and it also lets you communicate with players who might not have a mic. If you have chat turned off, then they dont let you -play online.

I don't know about that. That would imply they are forcing vioce chat to play online which I cannot see happening.

However I have no better reason for it so yours is as good a guess as any mans.
