Does anyone know of a mod [with detailed instructions] to swap the positions of the brake and clutch pedals on the G25 or G27? I left foot brake and could care less about using the clutch. The plbrake pedal is way to close to the gas for me. I would be MUCH more comfortable if I could out the brake on the far left.

Thanks

Can it be mapped?

F1 2010 is mappable. Not sure about GT as i like the clutch.
Works pretty nice in F1 BTW.

Seems a shame to rip em apart.

You can, but you have to open the pedal base up. You just have to switch the wires to board. Caution, you may have to solder.

Google or Youtube some G25 mods.

No soldering should be needed.

Just open the pedal base, have a pair of needle-nose pliers, and pull the connectors off of the potentiometers. switch the connectors for each of the 2 pedals and you're good to go.

I don't know if the rubber tubing protecting the wires will need to be removed. If it does need to be removed, find yourself some heat-shrink tubing and pull the connectors, cut the black protection rubber off, swap the position of the wires, slide the heat-shrink tubing on, apply a little heat with a butane lighter, and slide the connectors on.

That should do the trick!

I'm already used to opening up the base to try a makeshift NIXIM mod.

Basically I'll be crossing the wires in an X? Aren't they cut to a precise length? What about swapping the pedals themselves instead of having to take them both apart to do a spring swap also? Or would I have to remove the wires anyway?

Dave Ole buddy If you want you can just swap the pedals (as I think that if you already done a mod on your brake you don't want to mod your clutch) as they have different "feels" all you need to do to do this is where the wires go into the base just strip enough insulation back so you can swap the pedals. After doing this where the pedals exit the base just wrap enough electrical tape around the wire to keep it from sliding out of the base . This is what I did when I inverted my pedals (keeping them in the base) Some photo's in my profile page. PM me if you need more help.

Opel, I have the lid off and it doesn't look like the wires are long enough to swap positions, making an X.

In this picture, the wires are tought.

If you want to reference any of your pix, please post them in the thread. I'm on my phone.

(Sorry for the double post. The "EDIT" function has been removed from the Mobile Theme)

What looks like would happen if you remove the black insulation between the clutch/brake (the one going across your middle finger) does it look like they would swap then? You would just have to "feed" more wire inside the base but the base wire is plenty long. If you don't think that would work let me know and I'll pull my pedals apart tomorrow and take a gander (look/see) to see what might be done. Also might be able to go to "Radio Shack" and buy enough male/female "crimp connectors" to make them longer. If you find something that you think will work you might want to tape/ hot glue the wires to the base plate to keep them from getting cut by the movement of the pedals.

Got it done. Not an easy task because the wire length limits. The problem wires are the ones coming from the top cover going directly to the clutch. If you have the top standing verically, you won't be able to seat the clutch even after stripping the main line running across all 3 pedals. The top needs to be closed somewhat. Then you can mount the pedals. After that, try to clean up the wiring.

Now that kooks neat! I wonder if PlaySeat is including instructions on disconnecting the clutch wires.
