g25 clutch question

hi , i just got a g25, wondering if the clutch works with gt5p, doesnt seem to at first, is there something that u have to do to get it to work maybe, i read somewhere all u have to do is push triangle but cant seem to get that to work and there is no setup for the wheel in the setup part of the game
 
Ah, yes. What you have to do is to press triangle at the beginning of the race, when there's a count down, that should activate the clutch. If it doesn't work, it might just be a timing problem, hope it helps!
 
If triangle doesn't help, try another car. Some cars have "automatic" clutch transmissions (GT-R, Audi R8, Daihatsu OFC, etc.).
If you want to remap the buttons, use Driving Force Pro setup menu.

Use "search" button for more info :)

There's no timing involved, just press is as soon as you gain control of the car, you can even turn it on & off half way through a race by pressing triangle.

As said above tho, some cars dont have manual clutches in real life, and therefor don't have them in the game either.

Pick a car that you 100% know has a clutch in real life, an easy way to tell is to see if the driver (when using cockpit view) is changing gears with a manual or paddle shift, this doesn't not hold true of all cars in the game (F430 uses paddles in the game but still has proper clutch with G25), but is a good rough guide.
 
This might seem obvious but you need to make sure its in H shift mode too.
 
To switch between H-shift mode and whatever the other mode is called, while depressing the shifter turn the switch from right to left until the shifter is locked so that it can only be used to bump the gears up or down. Hope that helps.
 
lol, got it work, ****, i didnt releize how much work was in voled in using it,havnt driven a mannel car in years, so much out of practice, u even have lift on the throttle, just need to build my pod now
 
I don't think he has any problems just commenting that's its a lot of work ;)
 
Hi, I'm stupid I hope no one minds that I bumped this thread. I just want to know if GT5 supports the H-shifter on the G25? I know that in GT4 it only supports the up and down shifting mode of the G25. In GT5P I've seen people talking about the clutch. So does that mean that GT5P also recognizes the H-shifter mode of the G25 with 1st - 6th + reverse gears?

It would be amazing if it did. Thanks in advance. ^_^
 
Yes the H pattern is fully supported (including reverse).
 
In my opinion it is worth buying, I love using the H patter and clutch and even without using the clutch it is a wonderful wheel.

but... "im not sure if i have to buy it..." -Of course you don't have to buy it, the cheaper DFGT is also a very fine wheel if you don't want to spend so much.
 
I'd also say that it's worth buying. I have an awesome time playing with the G25 and friends drop by with the sole intention of driving a racecar with a clutch and shifter. They are required to bring intoxicants.

It's alot of fun.
