I have a Fanatec GT3RS V2 wheel, which was new when I bought it, and G25/27 pedals (don't know which is which), which were used, but appeared to be in great condition when I bought them.

The only problem I've noticed with the pedals is that almost always when I start a race in GT5, the brake pedal will have only about a cm of travel before it locks the brakes up. This isn't normal - it should have way more travel before locking. Sometimes if I depress the brake all the way down, it'll start working normally, and I have regular pedal travel before the wheels lock. But it's starting to happen way more often, and pressing it all the way down doesn't always fix the problem. Am I doing something wrong here?

Also, I've had difficulty with adjusting to the brake locking in GT5 for some reason. I was pretty darn good at braking just on the locking point with the DS3, and with the Xbox controller back when I played Forza 2 and 3. But now, with ABS off, I can never get the braking quite right, and I crash way more than I should because the wheels lock up without me meaning to and I spin out. I'm not a noobie to racing games; I've been playing hard for years now, and I understand a lot about it. I just can't get around these pedals.

So my question is, are the pedals broken? Fixable? And also, I'm thinking about just selling them and buying the new CSR pedals (is that what they're called?) with the load cells. They seem dece, and are only 150 bucks. I bought the Logitech pedals for an extra 100 bucks over the wheel; any chance I could sell them for close to that much?

One last thing: I want a shifter. I have no use for the clutch pedal and I grow tired of flappy paddles. I've heard a rumor or two that Fanatec will release (apparently) a 7+1 gear shifter, made of all metal, that will clank when shifted through the gates. Maybe I'm wrong? The way I understand it, the old porsche shifters on Fanatec's website were discounted for 60 to 30, and now the new CSR shifters are 60, but aren't they the same build with some fancy shiney bits? I would like a metal shifter, but I don't want to buy the T500RS for 600 and then have to pay another 200-ish dollars for a shifter! :nervous:

Has anybody got anything to say about this? Come on, guys, I know that you know that you've got an answer to this.

So its the brake sensitivity thats messing you up when you have the ABS off? Sorry that I cant help you. But all I can say is that it could be all just a learning curve that you are going through right now.

I'd definitely be interested in your Logitech pedals. But for a $100 :nervous:

It sounds like the pentomoters may be going out on the brake pedal. It's a round metal piece that the wires plug directly into. I've replaced my gas pedal before when it wouldn't work right either. I'm sure you can google G25 pentometers and buy them online. I'm not certain, but you might be able to sell them for up to $60 - $70 or so?

On another thread I was complaining about a similar problem with my CSR and G27 pedals, however I think that a firmware update is needed. There isn't actually a game breaking problem, I just think the pedals need to have some sort of calibration with the wheel.

When I hit the gas pedal hard it doesn't show that I'm hitting its full potential, but if I slowly put pressure on it, it shows that it is working. Same with the brake pedal, I think thee may need to be a deadzone on the pedals or some sort.

/\ That's a good idea Honda-Crz, I just emailed Fanatec support about a firmware update for the CSR that may help with G25 pedal compatibility.
