g25/gtforce pro question

i posted about this in one of the g25 threads but nobody replied. figure it was missed so i'll try asking again

in the settings as per this picture:

you can change the settings for the steering type and power assist

i don't understand what power assist is and what it changes

don't understand either what difference steering type makes.

anyone able to explain it for me?

Steering type if I remember didn't affect the DFP, so I assume wouldn't affect G25 settings (note, that's just an assumption since it worked with the Driving Force wheel). Power assist just makes the wheel easier to turn.
 
I played around with settings in GTHD ages ago and found what I like best (with DFP), now I have GT5P and G25 I am still using the same settings.

I forgot what each did but I do remember they made changes when testing. IIRC the power assist sort of let the resistance nature of the DFP loose when you tried to turn real fast (was annoying so I didnt use it), but the G25 doesnt have that prob so I doubt it does much.
